Mysuru, Mar 13: Charred remains of a nine-year-old girl, who happened to be a second standard student, was recovered on Thursday March 12. It is suspected that she was raped.

The girl, who had gone to a temple to receive Prasadam in the company of her elder sister, was seen thereafter. Anita, daughter of Raghu and Saraswati couple from Chinnagiri Koplu near Jayanagar here, had gone to ISKCON temple in the company of her elder sister, Suneeta. She had not been seen thereafter. Her parents are coolies.

Suneeta's mother, Saraswati, had filed missing complaint about Anita in police station on Thursday morning. The burnt remains of Anita's body were found in Jayanagar 15th cross on Thursday evening. The policemen said that the girl had been torched after sprinkling petrol on her body.

The police, who have converted the missing complaint into murder, plan to question neighbours and children who had last seen Anita before she went missing.
