Six held for betting on India-Zimbabwe cricket match


Gurgaon, March 14 (IANS): Six people were arrested here on Saturday for betting on a cricket World Cup match between India and Zimbabwe, police said.

All arrested are in the age group of 24 to 35 years.

Acting on a tip-off, Crime Branch (Unit-1) chief Yashwant Singh and his team raided a flat in Orchid Society in sector-49.

Those arrested have been identified as Promod from Prajapat Nagar Delhi, Gagan Jain from Laxmi Nagar Delhi, Mohan Kumar from Neb Sarai Delhi, Nirmal from Madhubani Bihar, Aashutosh from Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh and Mohan from Nepal.

Thirty-one mobile phones, 3 laptopsand many other gadgets were seized during the raid, police said.
