PM expresses concern over nun gangrape, church vandalisation

New Delhi, Mar 17 (PTI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed deep concern over the gangrape of an elderly nun in West Bengal and the vandalisation of a church in Haryana as he sought immediate reports on these incidents.

"PM is deeply concerned about the incidents in Hisar, Haryana and Nadia, West Bengal," the PMO tweeted.

"PMO has asked for immediate report on facts & action taken regarding the incidents in Haryana & West Bengal," it said in another tweet.

A 71-year-old nun was allegedly gangraped by dacoits at Gangnapur in Nadia district in the early hours on Saturday after which a CID probe was ordered into the incident.

In another incident, an under-construction church in Kaimri village near Hisar, Haryana, was vandalised by a group and the cross replaced with an idol of Hanuman, triggering tension in the area in Haryana.

In this 21st century and in the civilized society still there are primitive, communally brainwashed people to take India back to the primitive times. The jobless illiterate street rowdies have a diabolical spirit to attack the voiceless minorities because their party is in power in New Delhi.

When I talked with my friend in Kerala a couple of days back, he told me that when some Christians came to Kerala to attend from North India for their national Christian convention, some RSS or VHP street rowdies questioned them, why you are here holding the Bible?

They said that they came to attend a convention. The illiterate rowdies heard that convention as "conversion". Took them to the local police station and finally after much agony, they were released.

What is going on in India is quite alarming! Indeed, India is heading to some very serious problems because the deliberate infringement of personal liberty of the minorities are now gravely challenged under the patronage of the current Government in New Delhi.

This seems to be another 'lip service' or a just token reaction to the media from Christian majority nations or a just a token reaction to President Obama's parting speech in India when he stated that India will progress if it is not splintered on religious lines. May be it is a combination of all the three.

Next we shall see some token arrests (and release on bail) and may be some token sham Commissions being set up to enquire into the incidences ?

The Bengal Nun attack was organized by BJP and sent their goons to attack a Christian institution. They made it look like robbery by stealing money and also raped the nun to settle score against Christians. This way they hit two birds in one stone. They took revenge against Christians and also maligned Bengal Governement showing how bad the situation in Bengal is.
BJP is creating a ground situation in Bengal like they did in UP for elections. VHP, RSS and BJP together will do more harm in Bengal before state elections and many more tragedies will happen. It makes no difference for BJP how they get the power in their hand and they have enough support from their goons in VHP and RSS. Same thing will happen in other non BJP states like Karnataka, Kerala, TN and it is already happening in Assam. Create lawlessness and blame the present governments so that they get their job done.
