ONGC appoints Dwivedi director for exploration projects


New Delhi, March 17 (IANS): State owned oil and gas explorer and miner Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India (ONGC) on Tuesday said it has appointed veteran oil explorer Ajay Kumar Dwivedi as the director for exploration projects.

"A.K. Dwivedi has taken over as the director (exploration) in the Maharatna Board of India's flagship explorer ONGC," the company said in a statement.

He was associated with the public oil company for more than 34 years and has completed important exploration related assignments across the country.

"Dwivedi managed ONGC's prime exploration portfolios in western offshore - Kutch-Saurashtra, Mumbai offshore and Kerala-Konkan basin. Under his stewardship, Western Offshore basin has achieved 109 million metric tonnes of oil plus equivalent gas including four discoveries," the company said.

Dwivedi has also authored technical papers on the subject of oil exploration.
