Palestinians ready for any Israeli government bound by world pacts

Ramallah, March 18 (IANS): The Palestinian National Authority (PNA) will deal with any Israeli government which abides by international conventions, the PNA presidency said in a statement on Wednesday.

The PNA announcement came after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's right-wing Likud party won in Tuesday's parliamentary elections, Xinhua news agency reported.

The PNA's state-run news agency Wafa quoted Nabil Abu Rdineh, spokesman of the Palestinian presidency, as saying in an official statement that the Palestinians did not care who the Israeli prime minister was.

"What we want to see is an Israeli government that recognises the two-state solution and east Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state," Abu Rdineh said.

He added that "based on this principle, we will deal with any Israeli government that will be committed to the international conventions and resolutions".
