Mar 19 (Agencies): Amidst the protests and demands for CBI probe in DK Ravi's death, the CID team appointed by the Karnataka government for taking charge of the case visited the deceased IAS officer's native village in Doddakoppalu today.
However, IAS officer's dejected parents refused to give their statement to the CID officials and insisted on giving their statement only to CBI.
The CID officers have recorded DK Ravi's brother Ramesh and sister Bharati's statement.
The investigation is being carried out under the supervision of SP Kumaraswamy.
The Karnataka government has turned down the demand for CBI probe in DK Ravi's death.

D K Ravi death: Karnataka MPs stage protest, centre offers CBI probe
New Delhi, Mar 19 (PTI): BJP MPs from Karnataka today protested outside Parliament, demanding a CBI probe into the death of a young IAS officer in Bangalore, and slammed the Congress government in the state over the issue.
The protest by BJP MPs was organised near the Gandhi statue before the Parliament session began in the morning.
It comes a day after a delegation of BJP MPs from Karnataka, led by Chemical and Fertiliser Minister Ananth Kumar and Law Minister Sadananda Gowda, met Home Minister Rajnath Singh, demanding a CBI probe into the death of IAS officer D K Ravi.
Thirty-five-year-old Ravi, Additional Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (Enforcement), was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his room at his flat in Bangalore on Monday, with police suspecting it to be prima facie a case of suicide.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP B S Yeddyurappa said the party will seek permission from Speaker Sumitra Mahajan to raise the issue in Lok Sabha.
He asked why the Congress government of the state is "hesitating" to refer the matter to CBI when parents of Ravi have been holding demonstrations seeking a probe by the central agency.
"It's high time that the state government takes a decision and hand it over to CBI," Yeddyurappa said.
Ananth Kumar, an MP from Bangalore, had yesterday alleged that Bangalore Commissioner of police was pre-judging the death of Ravi by announcing it as suicide.
Centre offers CBI probe
New Delhi, Mar 19 (IANS): The central government is ready for a CBI inquiry into the death of Karnataka IAS officer D.K. Ravi if the state government wants, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday.
Making an intervention during zero hour in the Lok Sabha, Rajnath Singh said a delegation of parliament members met him and demanded that a CBI inquiry be initiated into the incident.
"Some senior IAS officers have also raised this demand," he said.
The home minister said: "I have spoken with the Karnataka chief minister and he has said he will send a detailed report within a couple of days".
"If the state government wants (CBI probe), then as soon as I get a representation from them, we will be ready for a CBI inquiry".
D.K. Ravi, a 36-year-old additional commissioner in the state commercial tax department, was found dead on March 16 at his official apartment. His wife found him hanging from a ceiling fan.
The issue was raised in the Lok Sabha on Thursday by BJP member Prahlad Joshi, who is from Karnataka.
Joshi said: "We met Rajnath Singh to apprise him of the situation and how people are been treated there (Karnataka)".
"I demand a CBI inquiry," he said, adding that the parents of the officer are also demanding it.
"The CID works under home minister of Karnataka against whom fingers are being raised," Joshi said.
Joshi's comments led to a protest by Congress members in the house. Amid the uproar, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the house briefly for 15 minutes.
