Mangaluru: Not handing over D K Ravi case to CBI will finish Congress in state, warns Poojary

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, Mar 19: Former union minister and Congress leader B Janardhan Poojary on Thursday March 19 lambasted the state government for not ordering CBI probe into the mysterious death of IAS officer D K Ravi said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi should intervene in the issue.

Addressing a press meet at the district Congress office here, he said, "Sonia Gandhi should intervene in this matter. What are Digvijay Singh and KPCC president Parameshwa doing? Though the parents, public and media are demanding CBI probe, the state government is not responding.

"Do you (state government) want to finish off the Congress party in Karnataka? If the state government does not hand over the case to the CBI, the Congress will meet face a situation worse than the recent Delhi elections," he warned.

Poojary also slammed Bengaluru police commissioner M N Reddi and said that his statement to the media terming the death as 'suicide' even before the post-mortem gave 'rise to suspicion'.

He also said that the parents of D K Ravi had toiled hard for his education and made him an efficient IAS officer, and they deserved justice.

He also asked the CM to watch television to understand the trauma of the mother who sheds tears for her dead son. "The CM should do what people of the state wish," he added.

"I have informed MLC V S Ugrappa to ask CM to hand over this case to the CBI," he informed.

Poojary said the CM need not fear that CBI would fix him in this case, "Poojary will stand with you (CM). People will support you. Hand over the case to the CBI and let the actual truth come to light and culprits go behind bars."

When reporters asked if he had no faith in the CID which is currently probing the case, he said, "People should have faith, but all are demanding CBI probe."

    Well said dear Poojari.

Your talks look unbiased, at least for the one who reads this.

Yes, as you rightly said - where is Sonia, Rahul, Digvijay, Parama, Oscar & local youth federation leaders now ?
Also, where is Amith Shah, NaMo, Sadanand Gowda & Rajnath Singh ??? All are keeping quiet now just because this is purely an "insider trading". Be it Congress/BJP.

    To the "Budding politicians",
You should raise your voice now. Because if you don't fight for justice (be it any party) you are just another "coward" for the country/state.

The manner in which Mr D.K.Ravi, IAS died is very sad. Emotions do run high when TV repeatedly display the plight of the parents, protests by the opposition and the public. Few statements have been made instantly by persons occupying high office. Nevertheless we need to give the probing agencies time. Even a probe by a retired Judge would solve the case. Handing over the case to the CBI is not advisable when meddling with this agency by Central Ministers is observed especially when the present PM and BJP National President have an agenda and have stated in public that they want the Congress to become extinct in all the States of India. Political interference to meet their selfish ends might be a possibility in such sensitive cases. Lets not forget the "Blowing up of the Boat" incident and the misleading versions given to the media and the public. Mr Poojary should not air his views in public instead meet his party leaders and give his suggestions.

    Good one from poojary.
He is the one leader who always talks tough be it on his own party or other party.
May be thats why he is not winning elections when it comes to elections.
He is one among those leaders who is non corrupt and speaks hard.
thats why people dont like him and even his own party people who are very corrupt dont like him.
Now its sure that there are big industrialist/builders involved in this case of DK Ravi.
    the truth must come out.
Its my sincere request to all people irrespective of party all the cases like those involved during yediyurappa govt. the murder of Naik etc from all parts of india must be handed over to CBI
No one can take these people who work against corruption for granted. Everyone should be jailed.
Everyone should take part in this movement of reinvestigation of all cases who were murdered so far.
and all the ministers should be sacked be it from Gujarat or Karnataka or UP.

Majority of the politicians are crooks irrespective of parties . They don't have blood in their eyes. They put a sad face or shed crocodile tears at the crime scene. Even majority of the bureaucrats are heartless people. But DK Ravi was an exception coming from a low middle class agricultural background family born probably in a OBC community. As such in all probabilities his sincerity and honesty was being questioned time and again by affluent born rich politicians, bureaucrats and mafia which might have forced him to commit suicide. A sincere man constantly harassed by these people cannot withstand for long ( without family support nor community support). Secondly murder cannot be ruled out because he had coughed up 150 crores in 4 months from sand mafia and currently engaged uncovering other illegal and notorious activities. Hats off to a simple and humble man

CONgress is finished long back...when people like Moily, Diggy, Sibbal, Shindhe,Kalmady, Sheila were made party bosses...Last assembly elections you won in Karnataka because BJP performed worse than CONgress ...with Yeddy, Eshwarappa, Ananth Kumar, Katta, Ashoka like BJP state leaders...perhaps people thought Siddu,George, Rai, Sorake are better...

I firmly believe both BJP and CONgress should be kicked out of state and non-corrupt party like AAP should be brought to power...

I am sure if this inquiry is given to CBI at least one senior CONgress minister will go to jail...
