Kasargod: Fraudsters offer to ‘shine’ jewellery, end up behind bars

Kasargod, Mar 21: Manjeshwar station police have arrested two men accused of cheating people on the pretext of polishing their jewellery.


 

The arrested are identified Sachin Shah (25), son of Vadepura Kumaraganta Harath Prabhara, Bihar resident Saligrama Shah, and Chandan (25), son of Triveni Ganj Raghunathpur resident Suraj Mendal.

The duo are accused of visiting the houses of people and cheating them after convincing them of getting their jewellery to shine.

They had visited the house of Niyas at Manjeshwar Hosabettu Pandyala Kadappura, and offered their services. The residents gave them a gold chain. The duo immersed the chain in a solution and washed it. When it was removed from the solution, there was substantial decrease in its weight.

The residents who grew suspicious, informed the locals about this and all who gathered there handed them over to the police. They were produced in court on Friday March 20.

    Police should track down these elements and send them back to their hometown. Locals also should cooperate with police.
    If these nomads attempt rape on any women found single at residences, then, sickulars and UMO of DK will start protesting against BJP RSS and BD.

    This is happening in different parts of the city in different ways. There are many fraudsters visiting different houses with different stories and cheat gullible people.
    This is one of the dramas happened recently in my neighborhood. One stoutly built guy came to my house first and introduced me as he has come from government agriculture department and I will assist you in providing fertilizers, manures, medicines to your plants, coconut trees etc for good yield. Besides they will also take care of infected coconut trees, plants by giving injections, medicines. But I flatly refused of him his service and told him that I will do myself.
    After a while the same guy visited our neighbor’s house, where one widow woman is staying lonely, pampered her, sprayed some insecticide on the plants and told her that we will arrange to pluck the coconuts, sell them and give the money to you. He kept on doing some treatment on plants without even telling the amount for the treatment and finally raised an invoice for whooping Rs 45,000/.By then lady grew suspicious and called for discussion. By then the gentleman left the place without uttering the word and collecting the money.
    Believe it or not, it is a fact. Beware of fraudsters. Don’t entertain any strangers/unknown people inside your house. They are coming in different guises and forms.
    Don't trust anyone now a days and allow the strangers,unknown people inside the house.They are all well trained fraudsters.Some are coming in the pretext of collecting old sarees,utensils,selling books,sarees,selling medicines etc.

    It is good that two members of this Bihari Gang is caught by alert residents. Actually there is a big gang of this Biharis doing the work of such fraudulent shining of the gold ornaments and they are spread all over Karnataka. Now through these two crook the entire gang may be caught only if the Bihar Police cooperate. They all belong to same community.
