Mangaluru: E-lobby launched at Karnataka bank Kodialbail

Mangaluru, Mar 21: Managing director and chief executive officer of Karnataka Bank Ltd, Jayaram Bhat launched E-lobby facilities at Kodialbail branch on Friday, March 20.



Senior general manager, Mahabaleshwara Bhat MS explained about the E-lobby and said "Today we have opened two new branches one in Kasaragod and the other at Vallapanahalli. The bank is spreading across villages. We have opened record numbers of 75 branches this year. Yesterday, we have launched three E-lobbies in Bengaluru and today we have opened one here in Mangaluru. There are four machines in E-lobby. One is ATM machine. The second is a cash deposit machine, a self service terminal which enables customers to deposit cash without any manual intervention of the branch staff. Customers can deposit their cash either by using their debit card or by entering their account number. Customers can deposit 200 notes, denominations of 1000,500 and 100 rupee notes at a time without sorting the currency.

“The third one is the check deposit machine. It is a unique automated machine that accepts cheques and issues the depositor a scanned copy of the same with the date and time as an acknowledgement. The customers have to enter 16 digit account number, cheque date and amount and the machine automatically reads the drawer’s bank, cheque number through the pre-printed MICR characters.

“The fourth one is pass book printing machine. It is a machine where customers can get their pass book entered at their convenience. Customers have to get a bar code sticker affixed on their pass book at the nodal branch as a one-time measure and place the relevant page for updating the pass book”.

Dr B M Hegde, customer of Karnataka bank said, "From 1964, I have been the customer of Karnataka bank and I have enjoyed being the customer of this bank. This is a family bank. I thank Karnataka bank for their services and wish all the best for their future endeavours".

Speaking about the growth of the Bank, managing director and chief executive officer of Karnataka Bank Ltd, Jayaram Bhat said “We have given E-lobby to people. We have plans to launch E-lobby in different sectors. By next financial year, we will launch 21 E-lobbies. By March 30, we will have 1,000 ATM's across the nation. We are planning to install pass book printing machines in busy branches in the coming days. In the year 2003, we had started ATM's. In 2005 internet banking was introduced. In the year 2012, gift and travel card was launched. In the year 2013, mobile banking was started. In the year 2014, missed call banking was started and in March 2015 we have started E-lobby. This year we have started 75 new branches. I thank all the employees for their effort and support”.
