Muscat: 'Amchigele Kutumbh' brings community together

Muscat, Mar 21: With a view of bringing together all Saraswath and Gowda Saraswath people residing in the Sultanate of Oman, a group named 'Amchigele Kutumbh' was formed under the able guidance of Aarbettu Balakrishna Kamath, Mangaldas Kamath, Manjunath Nayak, Rama Krishna Prabhu, Sachin Kamath and other likeminded volunteers. All the mentioned people reside in Muscat.






























On March 13, a Shree Lakshmi Satyanarayana pooja was organized by the newly formed group at the Shree Krishna Temple premises in Muscat. The function was attended by close to a thousand Konkani-speaking devotees. The pooja was conducted by the Karkala Rakesh Bhat.

The event started with Kalasha Pratishtha, followed by chanting of Vishnu Sahasranama by women volunteers, subsequently bhajan seva was offered by devotees accompanied by Priya Pai on the harmonium and Sujir Girish Nayak on the tabla.

Further, the attraction of the event was the chanting of Purusha Suktha by a team of 9 volunteers led by Gurupur Varadaraj Prabhu.

Shree Manjunath Nayak briefed the gathering about the objectives of the Amchigele Kutumbh and thanked individuals and groups for their support.

'Amchigele Kutumbh' will be responding to the grievances of the Konkani-speaking populace in the Sultanate of Oman and it will begin functioning very soon. The support of all Konkani-speaking individuals was requested at this point.

It was also informed that the group will be organizing events for children.

The noted film personality and director, Kasargod Chinna was present on this occasion.

Around thousand devotees witnessed this solemn ceremony.

All were served with lunch on traditional banana leaf.

The event was successful by the grace of God and the support of all volunteers who worked altruistically.
