Three arms dealers held in Delhi, arms seized


New Delhi, March 23 (IANS): Delhi Police have arrested three illegal arms dealers and seized a huge cache of weapons from their possession, an official said on Monday.

Ashok Singh, 62, Rakesh Sharma, 44, and Ajay Sharma, 49, were arrested on Sunday, a police officer said, adding that they were booked under the arms act.

The seized arms include 1,800 live cartridges and 11 shotguns.

Police said they trailed Singh's car who set out to deliver the consignment from ISBT Sarai Kale Khan to Wazirabad and then to ISBT Kashmere Gate.

Singh was joined by receiver Rakesh Sharma at ISBT Kashmere Gate and the car later moved to a secluded spot near a road leading to Gopalpur where they were apprehended along with the third accused Ajay Sharma.
