Bantwal, Mar 24: A woman was found dead at her house in Bogodi near Melkar here on the night of Monday March 23. Though it was said to be a case of suicide, the locals alleged murder and assualted her husband, following which a tense atmosphere prevailed and police had to resort to lathi charge.

Bushra, wife of Irfan, was found hanging at her residence at around 9 pm. The exact cause for the death is yet to be known.

Bushra and Irfan married about two years ago, and have a two-month-old daughter.

The locals alleged that Irfan had killed his wife and made it look like a suicide. They caught hold of Irfan and assaulted him.

Bantwal town police who rushed to the spot had to resort to lathi charge in order to disperse the mob. Bantwal ASP Rahul Kumar, circle inspector Belliappa and other personnel also arrived and brought the situation under control after some efforts.

Additional police teams have been deployed at the spot.

Further investigations are on.

I am sure there are many here supported the Nagaland incident. I wrote here there will be more Nagaland type of incidents will come up including fake rapes to take revenge. If we keep supporting the mass justice, then the days are not far that we will create our own ISIS albeit with different outfits. All these moral policing and taking the law into hands should stop asap to call ourself a civilised country.

First of all, it is not others duty to interfere and assault third party.
Possible that the locals are well aware of Irfan's way of life and took such action to punish him. Whatsoever, people are not supposed to take the in their hands.

Please approach BJP to arrange harthals for CBI and not CID inquiry in this case too as it is similar in nature (Suicide or murder?)like the one that rocked Karnataka a few days ago.
Here interest will be nil as: 1) persons involved 2) no political mileage!!
This is what our politicians are made of.

    Mann Bengaluru

As you said CID inquiry cannot be done for each and every murder and death. There culprits were the top people who were evading taxes and encroaching land of the government which was for public.
