Shivamogga, Mar 24: The second court of the junior magistrate (first class) here, on Monday March 23, granted bail to Sandalwood actor, Shivarajkumar, and his wife,, Geeta Shivarajkumar, in a case relating to violation of election code of conduct.

The Lok Sabha election last year was held on April 17. Campaigning for the same had ended 48 hours before the election. It is alleged that JDS candidate from this constituency, Geeta Shivarajkumar, along with her husband, Shivarajkumar, and district Congress president, Srikanth, had undeartaken open election campaign at Navile near here on April 16 morning.

The electoral officer had filed a complaint of violation of election code of conduct. A case was registered under the Representation of the People Act against the three people named above.

The couple had appeared in the court on Monday. Shivarajkumar, his wife, and Srikanth, were granted bail by the court, which posted the case to March 31.
