Dubai, Mar 24: Yakshamitraru Dubai, UAE, which has been engaged in the service of Yakshagana art for the last twelve years, will hold its twelfth annual Yakshagana programme at Shaikh Rashid Auditorium, Karama, Dubai on June 12, 2015.

The theme of the Yakshagana play will be Kannada historic epic 'Manikanta Vijaya - Rathi Kalyana'.

The muhurat of the play was held at Woodshine Carpenter's office in January in the presence of Yakshagana art lovers, led by Puthige Venkatesh Shastri and Shivaraj Bhat.

The programme that progressed later consisted of Prathistapane, lighting of traditional lamp by senior members, Bhajans and Mahamangalarathi. After symbolic gong, the pamphlets on the play were handed over, artistes entered the scenes and the rehearsal of the first scene was also held. After distribution of Prasada and Anna Santarpane, the Yakshamithra artistes gave a brief description of the play and requested for cooperation from the art lovers in Dubai and the media. It was decided to publish the final list of artistes arriving from hometown later. Student artistes who joined new classes and new artistes were welcomed to Yakshamithra troupe.
