Carcasses of dolphins appear on seashore - fishermen worried

Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Mar 26: A new phenomenon in which carcasses of dolphins are getting deposited on the coast along the district, has given reasons for the fishermen to worry.

The carcass of a dolphin had been sighted for the first time at Mavila coast here. Thereafter, during the last four days, carcasses of dolphins have been found from the seashore at various spots. The fishermen claim they also get dead dolphins during fishing activity.

It is guessed that dolphins have been dying either after consuming waste being dumped by ships, or after having been wounded by the blades of propellers of ships.
