Mumbai, March 26 (IANS): Reliance Jio Infocomm, a part of industrialist Mukesh Ambani-led group, Thursday said it has acquired the right to use telecom spectrum in 13 key circles across India after the recently-concluded auction.

With this, in addition to the pan-India spectrum in the 2,300 MHz band, the company said it has these airwaves in either 800 MHz or 1,800MHz bands, or both, in 20 out of a total of 22 circles in the country.

The provisional results were were announced by the government after the approval of the Supreme Court on Thursday. The actual award of spectrum is subject to the apex court's further orders on the matter.

"Jio's seamless 4G services using proven multi-band, long-term evolution (4G) technology and supported by our large spectrum footprint will provide superior user experience for voice, video and data services in line with the best service providers in the world," Ambani said.

The company said the payment to be made for the right to use the awarded spectrum for a period of 20 years is Rs.10,077.53 crore.
