New Delhi, March 27 (IANS): All foodies in the capital, get ready for a unique gastronomic experience with the first edition of the food carnival 'The Grub Fest', to be held April 3-5 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium lawns here.

The three-day fest will bring together a mix of the city's restaurants and cafes to cook up a culinary treat for food lovers.

The Grub Fest is an expressive name as a concept of India's food carnival -- from life-sized pop-up restaurants to homemade carts, food trucks to kebab grills, candy stores to organic bazaars -- this food fest is here to bring all foodies across the city to one destination.

Apart from the food, the other highlights at the carnival will be a special performance by actor and standup comedian Vir Das, and musical performances by Hari and Sukhmani, Cyanide, Rishabh Joshi and DJ Sartek.

One can experience food tasting menus, blind wine tasting and other engaging contests.

The Grub Fest is the brainchild of young entrepreneurs Aman Kumar, Arjun Jain, Chaitanya Mathur and Mani Singh Cheema, who are passionate foodies and want to showcase the very best of India's food flavours by means of a festival.

Restaurants participating in the fest include those like Royal China, United Coffee House, Smokey's, Fio, Town Hall, Khan Chacha, Switch, NYC Pie, Kathi's and Shiv Sagar.
