Mangaluru: There is strategy behind attacks on Christian community, allege protestors

Mangaluru, Mar 27: The diocese of Mangaluru on Friday March 27 organized a protest condemning the atrocities against Christian community reported throughout the country in the past few months. The protest was held in front of the DC's office here.

Addressing the protest, social activist Roman Lobo said, "Exploitation and attacks on Christians are continuing. Christians are being insulted and churches are being attacked, and ultimately, Christians are tagged and accused of conversion. If we observe closely, we can see that these continuous attacks on churches are taking place from past two months. If we contemplate on this, we can understand that there is a planned strategy behind this.

"According to a survey by the Catholic Sabha, throughout India 7,000 cases of atrocities were reported against minorties in 2014, and 396 prayer centres were attacked or vandalized. According to a survey by Komu Souharda Vedike, from past nine months, 100 cases of attacks on minorities were reported in Karnataka. Prior to Delhi election, six churches were attacked there. There is a planned strategy behind this," he said. He also narrated a list of attacks and atrocities on Christians reported from different parts of the country to corroborate his claim.

"Our PM was silent on this issue, though stones were pelted on churches and educational institutions like schools were burnt. After the Delhi election results, the PM broke his silence," he added.

"Christians provide education and selfless service. They want our dollar, pound and riyal currencies and then they pelt stones on our churches. Is it a mistake to serve or provide education? There are only 2.5 percent of Christians in India - merely 3 crores. Just think - if all our Christian educational institutions had converted as alleged, the Christian population would have been more than 50 crore. Instead, our population is decreasing from 2.5 percent to 2 percent," he added.

Referring to statements on Mother Theresa by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat that she served the poor in order to convert, he said, "Mother Theresa did not convert but she transformed people by her service and served the destitutes, poor and the needy. Without considering their religion, she made them true human beings through her service."

He further added, "All political parties are the same. Why do you allow this to happen? What have we done? This is a symbolic protest. In future we will hold a massive protest and we will also give answer to these atrocities by various programmes within the purview of law.

"In 2008, when churches were attacked in Mangaluru, Somashekar Commission was formed from our tax money, but we all know what happened. When MLA J R Lobo wanted new commission, all other representatives wanted him to be silent because it was a finished matter," he said.

"We are all Indians. We have offered education and service to society. Stop punishing us. Do not segregate Christians from India's mainstream," he urged.

Nelson Monis in his address said, "No religion or religious scripture provokes people or preaches hatred. Every religion preaches 'love your god' and love others, and foster brotherhood. No religion preaches violence.

"The more you threaten us, the stronger we will get. Hinduism says 'sarve jana sukhino bhavantu', then why do they insult and make derogatory statements on Christians? We never attacked any religious centre nor insulted anyone. We treat everyone as human beings. We can tolerate anything but not insult to our faith," he asserted.

"Recently the PM said that Constitution is one for all and all are Indians - This should not be mere words but be implemented too. THe Indian Constitution has provided us religious freedom and liberty to follow any faith. Who are they to tell us?

Speaking on the contribution of Christian community to society, he said, "Christians have provided education and thereby empowered women. When there were practices like Sati system and Devdasi system, Christians brought about a revolution. When mental patients were neglected, Christians through their service showed even they were human beings by setting up centres for destitutes. When education was limited only to upper class, Christian institutions provided education to all and service to poor. For Christians, service is important and not conversion. There are several Christians institutions and thousands obtaining education, but they are not getting converted."

He condemned gang-rape of a nun in Kolkata, he said, "No one can destroy the principles of Christians. Though religions centres may be destroyed, you cannot destroy Christian principles and ideology."

Parish priest of Rosario Church said, Fr J B Crasta said "Indian democracy is the largest in the world; and everyone has right to follow their faith. All are equal before the Constitution and enjoy equal rights. All Christians in this country are Indians. There is a strategy to divide the people on communal lines. Derogatory statements are made against Mother Theresa. Saffronization of education is taking place. Sexual assault on nun and allegations of conversion are being made and religious centres are being attacked. All this should stop."

Hundreds of people were present, including Msgr Denis Moras Prabhu, Fr Robert Crasta, advocate M P Noronha, Konkani Sahitya Academy president Roy Castelino and others.

I quote yours: Jesus is not God nor son of the God. He was a revolutionary teacher or a great sage or Rishi. Son of God is a title given by his disciples like Buddha for siddharth Gautama. Buddha simply means aweken or not sleep or enlighten one. Unqote.

    See below and satisfy yourself.

Daniel 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God

1 John 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is Antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an Antichrist.

Matthew 16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

John 8:12 “I AM THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD”

    Dear Manju, Mumbai,

America/USA’s weren’t involved in any wars of I or II world wars.

Japanese imperialism was continuing and they destroyed USA’s Pearl Harbor without any cause. That is the reason America ped nuclear bomb to Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Secondly, if they were not ping nuclear bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki American one million soldiers would have died.

So the USA has saved them from the Japanese imperialism.
There ended the wars and UNO was formed and as of now it is functioning.
Concerning to Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan they themselves are responsible for their destruction.

You never enter each others church and try to destroy each other. Manhy places this was proved and you people unnesessarily blaming RSS and other organisations. Your Concept of God is not clear. God is not a person but he is only quality. Read Advaita Vedanta. Only God(quality) or pure consciousness exist and rest are his Maya or illusion. Every existence is self sufficient and no need of any external agents like super power son or messenger .only Indian Gurus can enlighten you because in West they are not able to understand what consciousness is.

The objective of missionaries who came to India has been to convert people here to Christianity.

Muslims forced religious conversions with sword and Christians did and doing it with money and in the guise of service.

Conversion to Christianity is the main objective behind missionaries charity work. Missionaries are foreign funded organizations to convert poor Hindus by inducement.

    Dear Commentators,

Since janasangha / RSS, VHP and the BJP started its political activities they had only one agenda of hating Christians, spewing venom vengeance, hatred and are jealous against other religions or faiths.

IT IS THEIR HISTORY. THEIR CREATION ITSELF IS FROM HATING, BORN IN HATING, BORN IN JEALOUS AND CONTINUOUSLY HATING.

THIS PARTY'S HISTORY ITSELF IS HATRED TOWARDS CHRISTIANS.

When he first took over the charge of Gujarat first he carried out atrociousness against Christians.

What a shame on him to intimidate a minute population of Christians as if we are 80%

Dear R.N.Mangalore, you have a valid point. You say that you have no problem with Jesus but are offended by others saying your Gods are no Gods and idol worshiping is sin. This is a delicate issue and I agree that no one should offend others beliefs and practices. There should be a top level meeting of religious heads to sort out the issue and I am sure where there is a will there is a way.

Having said that I would like to mention that in christianity we believe that Jesus is the only son of God and idol worship is against the will of God. Of course we all practice and preach what we believe in and actually not with the intention of offending anyone. But it is time that we all realise that we do not offend others knowingly or unknowingly while practicing our religion.

Coming to attacks on christians these are all unwarranted and allegations levelled are out of proportion. Lakhs of hindus must have studied in christian institutes and benefited by it. Can you show a single case where a student has been converted to christianity (leave aside forceful conversion). Have you seen any christian leader using abusive languages against other religions as hindu leaders are doing? You term christians are outsiders. Nationality is not decided by once faith but by ones origin. We are very much Indians like you all. Today our faith is used as a barometer to decide our nationality. It will be as ridiculous as using ones educational qualification, economic condition etc to decide ones nationality. Do those Americans who come to India and accept hinduism become Indians overnight?
Frankly speaking, except for these leaders who make inflammatory speeches the general public have no problems at all with each other. Don't we all co exist so peacefully in schools, offices. Don't we all have friends from other communities. Can we imagine our life without these friends?. I am sure these leaders who sow the seeds of communalism have taken it as nothing but their profession.

Very good to read your comments. If you look at great people like Einstien, Gandhiji etc they have said "God is only one, we call with different names". Religions are created by humans.

I have seen many Hindus reading bible, going to churches. I have seen many christians reading hindu holy books, visiting temples and celebrating hindu festivals. Choosing the faith is one's own discretion.

There are many Christians across the world who come to India and visit temples. Recently i read this story in one of the kannada newspapers : A french citizen used to visit India every year. Once he visited Gokarna Temple and became devotee of the temple. Since then he visited Gokarna temple every year. He wanted his body to be cremated after his last breath, in the holy place Gokarna. He had such a strong faith. Last month when he visited Goa, one night he stayed in Karwar Hotel. He fell sick all of a sudden and when being rushed to Mangalore Hospital, he breathed his last midway. According to his wish, his friend came from France and cremated body as per Hindu rituals in Gokarna. This story tells us religion is no bar for ones' faith/beleif.

I too visit temples. I am a big follower of Swami Vivekananda. I read his books a lot. Whenever I am in sad, don't find way, disheartened etc I remember his one statement "STRENGTH IS LIFE, WEAKNESS IS DEATH". This sentence energize me, instills potential, gives courage to me to take on any problems and situations. Swami Vivenakanda is the first one to tell ALL RELIGIONS ARE EQUAL at All Religions Summit in Chicago, when all other religious heads said their religion is superior. He portrayed Hindus opinions in Chicago. Hindus are accomodative, generous people. I am happy to live in Hindustan.

    sam, world,

I don't need to answer your every question which lacks subjects and content.

All religions are equal. All religious people are HUMANS first. Religions/Cast/Creed are created by humans. The Krishna/Jesus/Buddha/Mahaveer/Allahu/Gurunanak all upheld the humanity and preached the human duties.

The followers of Christ are known as Christians
The followers of Krishna are known as Hindus
The followers of Budda are Buddists
The followers of Allahu are Muslims.

Tomorrow some other religion may arise.

If you make a cut on body of a Hindu and a Christian, you see the red blood. Not Hinduism or Christianity. We have blood groups on A, B, AB, O etc not on Islamic, Hinduic, Christianic, Buddic.

Most of the religions are incompatible with each other. When they do conflict arises. No matter how much you try to explain your concept of oneness among humanity, you cant make a really strong point.

"The Krishna/Jesus/Buddha/Mahaveer/Allahu/Gurunanak all upheld the humanity and preached the human duties"
    - That may be true for the rest, but not for Jesus Christ
    - Jesus Christ came to save mankind and call us to repentance
    - Humanity cannot give you salvation. Only God can do that.

when a country struggles to support a population of 1.25 billion, christians comprising of 2.3 million, almost equal to a population of US, its ironic that the christians feel that they have been targeted. Indeed there are several attacks but these are committed by a minority.

In a great land of ours christens live a normal life, get employed, own properties and pay taxes and obtain any benefit under government programs. More so they have been given property to build churches, schools, teach their religious beliefs and so on. they have not been discriminated or hated.

Hindu people being majority inhabitants of India, we need learn from the good of these people. Hindus in my mind are most kind and tolerant people. Yes there are some bad apples, and these are just bad apples in a tree. that does not mean we need to destroy the whole tree-India.

Its not that simple. We need to humble ourselves in front of God and honestly seek his help and accept his solution. Unfortunately the human heart is afflicted with the seven deadly sins of wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony which makes it difficult. We usually turn to God only in time of need, want the solutions our way and neglect him while we carry on with worldly pursuits. A relationship with God is always two-way.

Laudable comments from you. You have unveiled true facts. These leaders put blame on BJP for everything, even though the congress is root cause for their grievances. Logically speaking, if they have to blame Modi today, they should have blamed Man Mohan Singh during 2008-13. Hope someone will enlighten these leaders who are digging grave for Christians of Mangalore/Karnataka. India is a peaceful country, everyone has rights to live in this nation. But no country people will tolerate extra affairs of any people. Hindus are most tolerant people on this earth.

Govt is discriminating christians at all level even though we contibute so much evan without thier imagination still particiality any response. Hindu's are ot doing any favour for christians becasue christians are also the citizens of India. so make your point clear christians are not allowed to live in India like Hindus. Hindus are livng peacefully in North America, Europe with any issues fro any citizens of these nations so why cant christians do the same in India. any response

Christians are also living peacefully in India except few minor incidents. Chaotic people will be there every part of the world, every religion. In US/CANADA hindus temples are attacked. in Australia, hindus are racially attacked. You have the best example of Prabha Arun Kumar recently.

But compared to all these facts, christians are living peacefully in India. Similarly, Hindus are living peacefully across the world.

But what I hate is the attitude of these leaders. You need to be very logical, veracious and clear when you make the allegations for a person or a party. Why do these leaders think congress always supported christains? During church attack in 2008 September, christian leaders demanded Centre's Rule in Mangalore. Did UPA heed to the request? Congress keeps enjoying and laughing at what is happening to Christians. They want Christians to hate BJP. That is all.... Don't you think these leaders are misleading Christians?

    Mr. Darryl Lobo,
I do appreciate your observation and point of view. Somewhere I too feel Christians have alienated themselves from the mainstream by hating BJP for no genuine reason. And the Congress seems to be taking advantage of the situation. Today I see our community is more against the Govt. at the centre than it was during Mr. Vajpayee's rule 10 years ago. Is it just because then we had one senior minister from our community and today there is none? Such type of fanatical mindset need to be changed, there's greater need to be broadminded and think of "Sab ka saath sab ka vikas."

For India to become like Pakistan, it will take a 100 years of divisive minority politics & hate mongering (like the one you're doing right now).
If it makes you happy (and I'm sure it will as you already know it but choose not to acknowledge it) Hindus are targeted more in this country than anyone else. The only difference is that we don't cry for every small stone thrown at a glass case or whatever.
Please open up that narrow mind of yours. Think not with your heart, but with your brains.

I am a Christian, but i never blame others, Christians should be blamed for themselves. Because innocent Christians have been brainwashed by Heads of the Community to vote for a particular Party..! Educated Christians use your Brains & look at other parties too so that we can maintain a balanced act. Also you people call only One party VIP's, MLA's, MP's to all of your Programs & celebrations, what actually you people doing? You are deviding yourselves from others. There are many over intelligent Christians who say don't speak Tulu which is others language & also many Christian intellectuals say don't attend others festivals etc... what actually you people doing?
Why do you people blame PM for everything? Only because he is from BJP? Karnataka don't have a CM? Be liberal in everything & don't just say we have education institutions & Hospitals. Many of the young generation doesn't even know Konkani forget about Kannada & Tulu. Don't try to say we are superior than others. If anything happens to us, you just go & Complain to US, where others should go & complain? There are plenty of Christian guys in the age group of 30-50 who are still bachelor's due to non availability of Brides in Udupi & D.K. districts though there are equal or more number of females but nobody bothered about it. Educate Young Christians to get marry at earlier age & have Kids instead of doing any type of Conversions. Glad to read your comment after a very long time.

The BJP has no respect for the Indian constitution or the U.N. charter signed in 1949. They may be writing their own constitution if easily possible superior rights and privileges to the Holy cow and no rights to the poor people and minorities.

The Brahmin created religious caste groups (it is written in Bhagatvat Gita, the assignments of different jobs for various groups) the lowest section called the Dalits, now 300 million in number was an unwanted sect of people. The Christian missionaries came to India and through many different religious denominations, they got educated and thousands of them embraced the Christian religion. The unwanted people were loved, so joined one religion, which is now termed as "forced conversion"

Now, the BJP and the sister parties are alarmed with two challenges. They are afraid that the Hindu population is declining, so to get these once unwanted people to their fold claiming that they were formerly Hindus.

The other interior motive is the economical reasons. If these people are educated and moving away from their control in undertaking hard and inferior jobs, who will take care of those jobs? The logic is rational but that is totally engulfed in total selfishness and ruthless exploitation.

If the Hindus are believing in the divine incarnation and deity of cow, that is their choice. But, if they are imposing their solid faith of their deity upon other religious believers and putting them into jail for carrying-serving or eating 5 years and 10 years in jail, what kind of a democracy is in India?

In today's news from Kerala, two vehicles parked in front a Church were burned by the anti-Christian devils. Even in those States were Christian persecution was not heard, now that is turning like a daily routine since BJP came into power. This is a very alarming situation but Mr. Modi is keeping totally quite which is creating far greater surprise to the minorities of India.

Why are they not protesting against KJ George and Siddu for failure of law and order in the state? Moral of the story is congress has no responsibility at all even if it is in power at the centre or at the state, all responsibilities of protecting minorities lies with BJP, congress can only create fear psychosis among minorities and exploit them for votes.

Iraq and many more places. But no one even questions, why ?? Just because its India we resort to political Gulf countries and US. Please note we in their eyes we are just Khafirs and Blacks.

Unless the community members come out in large to show their solidarity though they are only 2.3% and their good deeds do prick the majority, atleast the good citizens of this country will realize what is the need of the hour and why such atrocities taking place and stop it right at the beginning where the smoke begins

400 years ago, Hindu Konkana GSBs (who were the original residents of Goa) were given an option by a certain 'Saint' & his invading Portuguese army: either convert or die. Lakhs of Konkanas were slaughtered, many of their women raped & many more were converted. There was however a huge number of Hindus who chose to run away to the southern states.
Over 25 years ago, lakhs of Kashmiri Pandits were given an option by the radical Islamic militant terrorists, either convert or die. Lakhs died, thousands ran away. 25 years have passed & still no justice for them.
It is impossible for me to sit down & narrate the invite number of attacks on Hindus & Hinduism since the last 1000 years, but I would rather stress on this very important point: every time Hindus were kicked down to the ground, they didn't cry, they didn't protest, they didn't ask "god why us". Instead, they picked themselves off the ground and stood tall and carried on with life.
Heck, why go back 400 years or 25 years? Even now, Hindus in the country are converted to other religions, either forcefully or induced. Thousands of temples are robbed, vandalised & destroyed on a regular basis. Do you see Hindus crying, protesting & making a propaganda out of it? No. How many of these temple attacks are reported, even if the attacks were done by anti Hindu communal forces? None. Paid media. But still, we don't cry. We deal with it.
Your churches are getting attacked? That's sad. But that doesn't mean it was done by communal forces, or rather in your words, by RSS or Modi or BJP etc. Learn the facts of the matter before you cry wolf. Most of the time, these attacks are done by people of your religion & by congis just to spread the existing hatered that y'all have for PM Modi & BJP even more. Think with your brains, not with your heart.
PS: last time I checked, RSS hadn't killed anyone unlike IS, AQ, LeT, simi etc.

I am sorry to learn of the atrocities against Christians reported throughout India in the past few months. There is no doubt Christians have done a lot for the weaker sections of society. W shall not forget ´the 1950 Constitution s India a secular state and guarantees freedom of belief, faith, and worship. There is a lively political debate in India regarding the precise meaning of these clauses and the appropriate relationship between the state and religious communities. The two main Indian parties, the Congress Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party, have proposed divergent interpretations, with the latter advocating a greater role for Hindu ideas and traditions (Hindutva). Despite these debates, several government bodies investigate claims of religious discrimination and recommend ways in which these can be redressed. Religious tensions remain high in areas like Jammu and Kashmir, where an overwhelmingly Muslim separatist movement faces a largely non-Muslim military presence, leading to frequent allegations of Muslim persecution. While the federal government has consistently sought to uphold religious freedom, the laws and practices of several Indian states often challenge it. In particular, anti-conversion laws largely aimed at preventing proselytism of lower-caste Hindus have aroused controversy. Hindu nationalists are quite aggressive with proselytizing Dalits who have converted out of Hinduism in an effort to escape caste discrimination. Hindutva groups find religious conversion divisive and work to re-convert Buddhist, Christian, and Muslim Dalits back into the Hindu fold. These strategies have created intra-caste discord between Hindus and religious minorities throughout India. Anti-conversion laws do not typically ban conversion outright, but rather impose penalties on those encouraging or facilitating conversions or add complicated application and registration requirements for potential converts. Local authorities are also accused of an unwillingness to prosecute those engaged in attacks against members of minority faiths, most notably Hindu nationalists involved in the 2002 Gujarat riots.´India is the largest democracy in the world and everyone has right to follow their faith. Freedom of religion and speech are important tenets of the Constitution of India and these constitutional rights must be protected by the Indian government.

    Best regards

    Dear Darryl Lobo, Mangalore,

    Are you a Christian???!!!

If you are a Christian can't you see I quote from the this news: According to a survey by the Catholic Sabha, throughout India 7,000 cases of atrocities were reported against minorities in 2014, and 396 prayer centres were attacked or vandalized. According to a survey by Komu Souharda Vedike, from past nine months, 100 cases of attacks on minorities were reported in Karnataka. Prior to Delhi election, six churches were attacked there. Unquote.

Do you mean the catholic sabha has falsified the survey???!!!

    You are telling about Pakistan.

Pakistan is a country, its citizens and the governments have supported talibaan. Now they feel sorry for that.

Pakistan is a failed nation because of its Islamic laws and solutions all over the world have failed in its Islamic laws and solutions.

See Yemen, Iraq, Iran, Libya, Egypt, North Nigeria, Sudan's Darfur, Sierra Leon, Mali, Somalia.

Egypt once again under a moderate rule now and it has closed nearly 27000 mosques where hate speeches were delivered.

This bjp and its associates are hell bent on to make Hindu theocratic state through church attacks, falsifying reports.

Even the law enforcements are supporting kaaki chaddi, VHP, BIDI, Moral policing.

Because of SIT which was formed by UPA some justice was done in Orissa and in Gujarat the evidences were all eliminated.

    Dear Darryl Lobo,

India is a democratic Nation and all have right to protests when injustice is done to any community.

REMEMBER WHEN BJP CROPPED UP WE HAVE THIS KIND OF CHURCH ATTACKS AND MORAL POLICING.

ARE THEY INTERESTED IN HUMAN DEVELOPMENTS OR COW DEVELOPMENTS OR MORAL POLICE DEVELOPMENTS OR GHAR VAPSI DEVELOPMENTS?

    Dear Darryl Lobo,

Joseph, I'm a Roman Catholic and I'm from bendore. Your comments are only provoking, there are some more comments in the forum and are just blaming without going to the root cause of the problem. We as catholics have to solve problems, but people like you are simply aggravating issues. You simply have one agenda and that is talking against Modi and BJP. You have no business to call him a chaiwala. I will appreciate a chaiwala rising to the position of prime minister. Clear mandate that the people of India are fed up with the crimes of congress. Can you vouch for the gandhi family's qualification? Yes congress have a few good qualified people, but sad they have become victims of the evil of congress. Daryl Lobo is a gentleman with his comments. Unbiased and genuine. You please do not make him a victim of you fanatism. CONGRESS is the mother of corruption and will sell their father and mother to gain power. I strongly condemn church attacks, at the same time I condemn congress.

    @Anti Corrupt, Mangalore, Kuwait
Joseph's comments should make you question BJP and its leadership. It was common to poke fun at PM Singh when he did not respond to the atrocities, but when the same pleas are made to the PM Modi to respond to atrocities that have occurred on the aam aadmi, why does he remain silent? If PM Modi can call the Oxford educated PM Singh as Maun Mohan Singh, why cant we call PM Modi chaiwala? The PM is not the leader of a majority religion, but the leader of the whole nation. If Modi continuously tours the world giving the Bhagawad Gita to every dignitary he meets, he can also give the Quran, the Bible, the Guru Granth Sahib to the same dignitaries if he is truly the PM of the nation and not the PM of a majority religion. PM Modi is no longer standing for election. He has been elected and now has to be responsible for the welfare of the whole nation and that includes cleaning up the Congress, BJP and its sister parties, and other political parties whose representatives have sold India. Allowing Christian Institutions to be targetted and attacked as a means of distraction will work only for some time. The ire of the vast population of India will turn against the government if it fails to contain corruption, rising prices for food and fuel, etc.

If Modi is selling tea now, you can call him a chaiwala. Don't dig someone's past. That is frustration. Modi called Manmohan Singh Maun Mohan becoz he was a mere puppet of Sonia Gandhi, and not out of disrespect. There are so many businessmen who have flourished from rags to riches. Please do not think I'm a supporter of Modi, I will definetely endorse your comment in saying that he too is silent on christian church attacks and commented only after a thrashing in Delhi.

Christianity has a strong learning and teaching faith system which is a point of misunderstanding to other religious believers. It invokes rational approach to all life situations that is clearly evident in the world history. Christian philosophy of education and literacy standard are the boiling points that often bring envy and religious intolerance among the other religious groups around. Its unquestionable charity message and love in action are the main foundation of the mission to upgrade and revolutionize human mind from superstitions and lead to the ray of deliverance and progress.
Why Hindus and Hindu temples are not attacked in Christian countries and why Christians and Christian churches are attacked in Hindu India?

"Christians are lucky to live in Hindustan"
    - Hindus are also lucky to befriend Christians, live besides Christians and learn about Jesus Christ. And we Christians are blessed that we can give witness to Jesus Christ.

"Respect the people here, respect their religion"
    - Christians love all people including their enemies
    - Asking a person to respect other religions while preventing Christians to stand for the Truth is asking them to deny Jesus Christ.

    "No one will bother you"
    - There will always be someone who will bother Christians because Satan and Jesus Christ are not friends

"Imagine what happened in Pakistan for a christian couple who were burnt alive alleging blasphemy. In India, if you do the same, churches may be attacked, but not your life."
    - "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." (Matthew 5:11-12)

I have lived in Mumbai for long since 90s! infact in 92-93 time, people used to put "konth" or a cross mark in their neck openly, to feel safe! same is true in karnataka too!... ..

but recent development has been, "its not roman catholics", but a sect from tamilnadu, andhra side, which is blatantly into conversion.. they are into money minting business of per head baptism and have even tried to convert the roman cathlocis in mangalore area!.. lets be true to ourselves and Hindus are objecting to only that!... and I feel they are right!

First of all I missed you for many days. People agree or disagree with you but I would not want you to refrain from commenting.

    Thank you for coming back.

Regarding the conversions yes there are enlightened souls who are on contract with God to recruit people for him.
They visited my family too and lot more non christian families in my neighbourhood.
They have the knack to talk and fool the people and very good at ridiculing the beliefs of all other people.
I don't think all are from Andhra or TN there are many from our own Mangalore.
I think they are doing the dirty conversion business for monetary gains unless they have exclusive contract with God.
But at the same time isn't it illogical to accuse entire community as hell bent on for conversion. What you say??

Thanks Anonymous! year end pressures, and business needs kept me out of commenting. Also, frankly I am quite bored commenting here. every issue, is seen from religious prism, communal angle and finally buck stops with MODI! he has to be blamed for every ill that is there in India and few even ridicule his chaiwala background or his skin color of "kaala Kaala chaiwala"! so, nothing more can be added and debated on subject anyways! .... I have been just human and sided with what I perceives as "truth", because, I dont want to add to my sins! vhe vhe... and that may have given a feeling in many that, I am anti -islam, christianity, hinduism, etc, which is dangerous!

and I just saw a video of Belgaum, where lingayats are majority! How do missionaries attract those..? so, they have made linga roopie jesus! kaavi cloth for priests, karpoora arathi, shankha jagate and pooja to linga within which they have Body of jesus! OM written around a holy cross... full idolatory, which christianty opposes!, their sanths shown as sadhus in saffron.... we can't help it! they have converted many, attracting people with this gimmick! ...

Let all Pope, bishops come out and say that "we condemn all such acts and we will not promote conversion in this way" I will tell you, everything will stop very net day! there is a nicer way to propagate faithn religion, but not thru inducement, forgery, force! this is ridiculuos!

I read somewhere a reader said that we Christians should be lucky that inspite of forced conversions and a few other factors, we are looked after well in India, unlike Pakistan…. I want to ask this gentleman, who do you think you are. We Christians or any other non Hindu population are as Indians as you may be or should I say you are not, because of such dirty thoughts that you have. People like you are a shame to a country like ours.
What statistics do you have about forced conversions? What utter nonsense. You attack our churches and other holy places and the dirty alibi you have is so called forced conversions.
My dear man, don’t you understand a wee bit, a Hindu God or a Muslim God or a Christian God will not accept anyone who has been bought by force. When God doesn’t accept such things, then don’t think we are jobless to do such things? We don’t want anyone to become a Christian by force.
Stop speaking nonsense and just say the truth, say that you have right wing extremist thoughts and are insecure of Christians who excel in every field and so are attacking our churches. Shame on you right wingers. But for your kindest information, I have scores of Hindu friends who don’t share your thoughts. We visit temples and churches together. Now don’t say I am converting them or perhaps they are targeting me for Ghar Vapsi.

Mr Mathew.....We know you enjoy cursing the BJP.........Don't worry....the more your curse, the more it will benefit......

The strategy of missionaries is to turn every crime in to a communal incident & attack Modi, poor guys are yet to come out of the shock of May- 2014.......

Mr Mathew, what do you have to say about the 200 vandalization of temples in Delhi & rape of another 70 women in bengal & the horrific rape/murder of Nirbhaya.........Don't you see any pattern against Hindus in these also???.......

Stop seeing communal patterns in criminals & defaming your motherland. Protect & fight for your motherland.......

Few temples were attacked in US also. Indians were attacked & killed in Australia & UK also.......Will you start defaming all these now??......

Treat crime as a crime & don't look for an opportunity to propagate your hidden missionary agenda in every crime....

Modi will not open the closed tap of illegal foreign funds flowing to missionaries, no matter how many dirty games the missionaries play.......We have a smart PM now & not a puppet who took commands from the Italian.......

Mr. Shetty: Who am I to curse the BJP? Am I God? It is an open reality that since BJP came into power, the Christian community all across India is caught up in some unknown fear.

When I talk with my relatives and friends in India, they are feeling some unknown alarm which they never have felt. Why? Do you expect me to keep quite? Not at all!

The galloping meat price is causing concern to people of all religions and parties. Even though the beef eaters altogether may come 40-50%, but other meat eaters are very high in India, may be 99%.

Mr. Shetty, please understand the misguided march of the BJP Government which is not at all concerned with the average, poor and the minorities of India but it is a clique of the super rich and the higher religious hierarchy of Hinduism. The Government is cutting the budget on Child care 50%, healthcare 20% and now going to the idea of universal healthcare greatly promised by Mr. Modi due to financial reasons.

You will understand one day what I am talking about.

Mr Mathew....what is this unknown alarm??.....

If your conscience is clear, then you need not fear anything....

Only missionaries who have done wrong should feel these alarms & not nationalistic Christians......

Learn to differentiate between missionaries & Christians.....We all love & respect Christians, but missionaries will be defeated.......

Why are you so desperate to equate the two??...
By the way, please answer few points which i have raised......I know you don't have any other than bad-mouth Modi......

These attacks on religious institutions or for that matter on any kind of institutions should stop and people of all denominations should learn to LIVE AND LET OTHERS LIVE. The only crime that the Christian institutions have done is sharing the gift of educations to thousands and thousands of people It time that realization dawns on people and that these attacks come to a halt.

For the argument sake let us accept that BJPians attacked churches between 2008-13 and blame was put only on BJP, you termed BJP govt as communal. But ironically, even after congress govt assumes office church attacks, moral policing continuing. Now if you are true to yourselves, why don't you put blame on congress govt and term them as communal? Please let us know what is your HIDDEN STRATEGY here ?

when time comes you will be a follower of christ. many converted from Christianity to other religions but they never find the beauty they originaly experienced when they followed the teaching of Jesus so that turned back to Christianity. Jesus never told any christian to hate others in his teaching but always asked his followers to love one another, help, repesct, cloth the naked, shelter the homeless, forgive your enemy, donate what you have and follow me that is the teaching of jesus my friend. Best and best on this universe can have is JESUS that is name everyone should be calling i love you Jesus. My prayers are there for you to follow the teaching of Jesus without changing your religion. Be whatever your are but please follow the teaching of Jesus which will make you best human of this universe without thinking and hating fathers, grandfathers, british, Americans and afghans etc,. We all are human in a short journey of this earth to make a better world and leave naked dead body some point to eternal life. be happy and love your neigbhour
