Mangaluru, Mar 28: 'Falling for My Crazy Stalker', a debut novel by young Nikita Carol Ferrao was released by Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld along with Hemacharya, editor-in-chief of Daijiworld Weekly here on Saturday March 28.

Speaking after releasing the book, Walter Nandalike said, "The number of people present here now is not important but this girl's achievement is very important. People say young age is not for writing books but for reading them. But this girl has set an example by proving that we can write our experiences and share our knowledge with others, whatever our age may be. I wish all the best and success to Nikita Ferrao. Let this book become a huge success."

Hemacharya said, "Nikita Ferrao is currently pursuing her masters in English language and literature at St Aloysius College, Mangaluru. She has written a very nice book at such a young age. Youngsters today are busy enjoying their college life but she has set an example by writing a book. She wants to make writing her career. I congratulate her and wish her all the best."

Author Nikita Ferrao said, "This book is a teen fiction and consists of humour, romance and suspense. The idea of writing this book came to my mind three years ago, and it took three months to actually write it. As I was a new writer I could not find any publisher, though I approached many. Hence, I have self-published the book. The novel is about a 17-year-old girl Eve who goes away from her home. The book has been published by Create Space publishers and is available on Amazon.com."

About the author

Nikita Carol Ferrao is the eldest daughter of Francis Ferrao and Jesintha Ferrao. 'Falling for My Crazy Stalker' is her first book. Reading books by different authors inspired her to take up writing. She is currently pursuing masters in English literature at St Aloysius College.

About the book

'Falling for My Crazy Stalker' is a novel filled with humour, romance and suspense. For the first time, 17-year-old Eve is away from home. She decides that nothing would spoil things for her. Not until one adventurous night, she decides to take a walk home, and runs into a club meant exclusively for adults. She meets Adrian Rhodes and finds herself drawn into an adventurous world centered around the mysterious Rhodes. She battles a chilling adversary, finding herself stuck between Adrian and the girl following her. 'Falling for My Crazy Stalker' will keep the reader on the edge. The book has been published by Create Space publishers and is available on Amazon.com.

    Dear Nikita,
I was reading Baldacci’s First Family, in between, I purchased and read the kindle version of your book. The writing, ideas and the plot are at par with any polished writer. The book is good.
I don’t write, but read a lot. You being very young, take my advice as a reader. Do not get swayed away by the flattery of the nearer ones. Be open to criticism, that is how you grow.
Now, I wouldn’t have completed the book if it was not written by a Mangalorean. The plot and the narration is good, that shows you have a mature writer in you. But the transition from one scene to another is not smooth. The pace is lost whenever there is an abrupt change in scenes. In some places the scenes and the incidences are not convincing.
I feel, you should take more time in transferring your ideas exactly to words. Write, edit, rewrite to perfection. You will definitely reach heights.
Reach heights and make Mangaloreans proud. Wish you all the success.

Wonderful news, my dear Nikita! You have successfully met a huge literary challenge in writing a sustained narrative which I know, for a fact, is tough.

We are proud of you! And surely you must be an inspiration to your generation! It is amazing that at your age you chose a path little taken in our hometown. Few other young people would have done the same.

    My warmest congratulations! Love.

What a terrible title for a book.
But judge not a book by its cover. Or its title. Or its author.
