The man has been identified as Washiqur Rahman, bdnews24 reported.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead, the officials added.

Rahman was attacked in the Tejgaon Industrial area.

Two students of a madrasa, suspected to be involved in the murder, have been detained. Three meat cleavers have been recovered from the spot, police official added.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Deputy Commissioner Masudur Rahman said that Rahman was about 27 years of age.

"He used to work for an NGO and we came to know that he was a blogger."
