Bangkok: Thai Kannada Balaga celebrates Chanrdamana Ugadi

Bangkok, Mar 31: Thai Kannada Balaga (TKB), an association of Kannadigas living in Thailand organized and celebrated a cultural get-together on the occasion of Chadramana Ugadi at Novotel Lotus Hotel, Sukhumvit Soi 33, Bangkok on Sunday March 29.

The colourful celebration was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by chief guest Susheel Kumar Saraff, president of ITCC (India -Thai Chamber of Commerce, Malathi Rao, director, Indian Cultural Council, Sathish Chandra, assistant general manager, State Bank of India, Bengaluru, Thai Kannada Balaga president Sreeram Kempanna, secretary Ambika, and treasurer Roshan Naveen Pinto.

Renowned artiste and comedian Richard Louis from Bengaluru along with his family, Channapattana singers Shashikala C J and Poornima, TKB members Ravi Bhovy, Ravi M B, Anagha with their Kollywood, Bollywood and folk songs; exciting group dance 'Huttidare Kannadanadalli Huttabeku' by group of 11 TKB members who also participated in Thai-Indian Funfair 2015 ; and many more cultural programmes by Thai Kannada Balaga members, CCS group and children enthralled the audience.

The former presidents of TKB, Ravi Mysore, Mohandas, Vinaya Rai, Habib, Vincent Daniel Pinto, Muthu, Guru Prasad, State Bank of India, official sponsor, regional head office, Bengaluru were present and distributed prizes and trophies for cultural activities. Setu Havanur compered the entire programme.

    I have my children / grand children at NICHADA THANI ISB school.They do not know Kannada as they studied out of KARNATAKA, but they are Indians and Mangaloreans.Where as I studied in Maharashtra in Kannada medium school.
