Denotification of over 700 acres acquired for Shivarama Karanth layout

Bengaluru, Mar 31: More than 700 acres acquired for the Kota Shivarama Karanth Layout by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) are likely to be denotified.

This information was given by Law Minister T B Jayachandra in a reply to S R Vishwanth (BJP) during the question hour in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday.

The minister said a total of 703 acres would be denotiifed. A final decision on denotificaiton would be taken based on the report to be given by a realty consultancy firm.

A total of 3546 acres had been acquired for the Layout. However, the court had ordered denotification of 256 acres. The Government was committed on developing the layout, he said.

Vishwanath said plans were already approved for formation of private layouts in the de-notified areas. BDA in 2007 announced the formation of the five new layouts, including the Shivaram Karanth Layout.
