Coal case: SC stays summons to Manmohan Singh

New Delhi, April 1 (IANS): In a relief to former prime minister Manmohan Singh, the Supreme Court on Wednesday stayed the summons issued by a special court in connection with the allocation of 15 percent share in the Talabira II coal block to Kumarmangalam Birla owned Hindalco.

The apex court bench of Justice V. Gopala Gowda and Justice C. Nagappan stayed the summons by the special court holding trial of coal scam cases as senior counsel Kapil Sibal questioning the March 11 order summoning Manmohan Singh asked where was the act of illegallity.

While staying the summons issued by the special court, the court issued notice to the CBI on a batch of petitions challenging the March 11 order.

The court also issued a notice to the central government on a writ petition by Kumarmangalam Birla challenging the constitutional validity of a section in prevention of corruption act.

Along with the former prime minister, the court also stayed the summons against industrialist Kumarmanglam Birla, former coal secretary P.C.Parakh, D. Bhattacharya and Hindalco.

Hello, About Gujarat, today's Times News Network says "The Comptroller & Auditor General (CAG) rips into Modi's famed Gujarat model. The CAG report tore apart the tall claims of Modi on agricultural growth, social indicators, expenditure on infrastructure, fiscal discipline, right to education, law & order situation etc.etc. GDP in agriculture locked a negative growth ( -6.96%)"! The brainless public was easily fooled by fake propaganda by the so called 'model'

It does nor require the guts. The govt. has to convince the supreme court with appropriate evidence. It is up to the supreme court to find the concerned person guilty or not guilty.

Congis can get away with any crimes. Starting from Bofors, 2G, CWG, coalgate, Helicopter, submarine,Hasan Ali., Vodra land scam,National Herald no one gets prosecuted. They are scientific in corruption. Have decades of experience corruption. Not like Yedurappa/ Banguru Laxman who were victims of petty corruption.
They are united in looting the nation. They don't let down each other.

I feel pity on the BJP jokers. They are trying their level best to send their opponents to the jail. But God is great sand Satyameva Jayate. They tried Priya Pillai, Teestha etc. but failed. Now they are trying on Dr.Singh, Robert Vadra, Sonia, Rahul etc. But they will never success. India is not BJP-RSS property to act as per their wish.

It is a welcome decision. Ultimately truth will prevail. The decision of the CBI earlier not to interrogate the former PM and now to implicate him has to be justified by the CBI.

but here you make some useless chap a PM itself, you ruined the democracy! you earlier made IK Gujral the PM with congress uspoort, just because, he was Indira's chela during emergecny as I&B minister!.. and then you got this rubber stamp , MMS! lekin tum sabko dikhate ho, democracy ke savior!

the interesting news from power corridors is, MMS would have been fall guy and congress had every plan to alienate him , just like the way they kept PVN away and humiliated him!... infact Pappu was asked to leave the scene during budget session and no one to defend MMS dduring coal scam news! but I heard, MMS said, "agar mein gaya, toh sabko leke jaoonga" and madame and all her chatte battes were forced to come on street supporting MMS and go to president!... some congi leader also quipped, "dus saal chup baita, lekin jab moo khola, toh kitna tagda bola - ek lohaar ka"! vhe vhe vhe.. he has many secrets and can finish the family, if he gets inside!...

let us welcome court's decision! let them work independently and keep faith in judiciary! :)
