In power in 11 states, BJP to debate the future in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Apr 1 (IANS): Having emerged as the world's largest political party, the leadership of India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will meet here for two days from Friday to brainstorm how to rapidly expand its influence beyond its record 11 states where it is now in power.

With a confident Prime Minister Narendra Modi and an assertive party president Amit Shah in attendance, the meeting of the national executive will draw more than 110 delegates from all over the country.

A host of issues will come up for discussion, party leaders say, with the controversial land bill -- which has united a disparate opposition -- expected to be taken up in a big way.

Party leaders say the BJP will be giving a clear message to its leaders and units to reach out to farmers to explain the bill's benefits and trash the propaganda of the opposition.

It will be the first national executive meeting since Modi became the prime minister in May 2014. A national council meeting was held in August.

It will also be the first meeting since Shah, a Modi confidant, took over the presidency last year.

"It is an important session because we have 10 months of good work (of the Modi government)," BJP's national secretary Sidharth Nath Singh told IANS.

He said the meeting would chalk out ways to expose the "misinformation" and "propaganda" of opposition parties, which say that the land bill would take away land from farmers and pass them on to industrial houses.

A BJP leader who did not want to be named added that the land bill will be the "big focus" of the meeting.

The BJP is aware of the dangers if the opposition is able to sustain its campaign against the bill, which got passed in the Lok Sabha with nine official amendments but needs to get past the opposition-held Rajya Sabha.

BJP leaders will also deliberate on the preparations for assembly polls in Bihar later this year.

The BJP is determined to win the state after the shocking rout in Delhi.

"The BJP won all Lok Sabha seats in Delhi but the situation changed in the assembly election. We need to take calculated steps in Bihar, specially since all opposition parties have joined hands," said a party leader from Bihar who did not want to be identified.

The ruling Janata Dal-United and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) have come together against the BJP in Bihar.

BJP spokesperson M.J. Akbar said Modi and Shah will outline the party's priorities in Bengaluru.

"The prime minister and party president will set the course for the party so that it is able to play its legitimate role in a resurgent India," Akbar told IANS.

"The Modi government has already created the foundation and framework of the regeneration," Akbar added.

The BJP now rules on its own -- or in alliance -- the states of Maharashtra, Goa, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Andhra Pradesh.

Since sweeping the Lok Sabha last year, the BJP has also been on a winning spree in state after state. The only reversal came in Delhi where it was routed by the Aam Aadmi Party in February.

The BJP meeting will review its membership drive. The BJP says it now has about 8.8 crore members, making it the biggest political party in the world.

Akbar said the membership drive was "an extraordinary achievement" of the party president and that the BJP had gained in strength even in states where it has been traditionally weak.

The party will adopt a political and an economic resolution at the national executive meet. The latter would focus on Modi's 'Make in India' campaign, a key focus area for the government.

Mr. Narendra Modi and Mr. Amit Shah's election sweeping days are numbered because they fooled the "Indian Electorate" with false promises of the "Gujarat Model" and "Black Money Issue's" which has been exposed recently by the "CAG Report".

There is absolutely no doubt that UPA-II was not delivering for the last 3 years of their second term(Policy Paralysis) and was in neck deep of "Corruption" with it's own "Allies"!!! and the opposition parties specially the BJP-Party didn't allow the parliament to function at all and not allowed them to pass the key bills which could have been good for the country and it's citizens.

That is the past. Even the present F.M Mr. Arun Jailtley has tried his level best to put pressure on the RBI governor Mr. Raghuram Rajan... but he did not conceded for Jaitley's demands and on the contrary he asked Mr. Jailtley to do his "Home Work" first to bring down the "Inflation" and then come to discuss across the table for reduction of "Interest Rates"!!!

Now what Mr. Modi & Co. has done for the last 10 months in spite of having commodity prices (crude) which is all time low (below $50) and the same crude was $ 100 Plus during UPA days!!! and the same very own Mr. Modi and company said before the general elections if they come to power they will bring the "Magic Figure of One USD to below 40 INR !!! Joke...

Whom are they trying to fool and diverting now the attention from the "Reality" ....."Religion" Based Poli-Tics. Why is the inflation still high and Industrial Production is below 3% !!!. They beat the drums of Indian Economy(GDP) is growing above @ 7.5% which is in "ground reality" nearing to just @ 5% !!! Ask this question to business community and the traders today...

Time to introspect for the BJP having their own simple majority(BJP's 282 seats out of 336 of NDA) why did they "Fail" so badly in spite of having conducive atmosphere for growth of the crude prices which is all time low below $ 50 a barrel!!! Today USD is 62.20INR.

Modi is in no mood to concede the actual factor for his elevation as PM which is relevant in his 10 months rule so far.It remains a not a secret now that BJP is only for rich people. Therefore, its future will be disastrous in politics.......

    Are yaar.....such a simple issue....

Tell me.... the present running corporate rate in the ASEAN region is 22%. Countries like Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam ( even Myanmar now) are actively attracting investment with good infrastructure. Many Indian companies have also set up hubs there due to this....
Tell me sir.....how will you compete by keeping it at 30%??....Production & raw material costs are almost same in all these countries......We loose the competition even before playing....

Moreover after all exemptions the net corporate tax collected was 23% in the past.......what Jaitley has made is 25% ( 5% reduction over 4 years) & cut out all the exemptions......Finally we gain 2%.......Is it not smart Mr Prabhu???...

Sickulars will hate Modi till eternity, no matter whatever happens........They are least bothered about work & only survive on Modi bashing.....

A survey has shown that the name of Modi does not evoke the same respect as it used to evoke prior to May 2014 Lokasabha Election. Modi's popularity has eroded considerable in rural area.
The impending elections to local bodies will show the true picture of BJP & Modi's popularity even though local body elections are fought on the basis of local problems and expectations and also on the basis of popularity of individual local candidate and not on the basis of popularity of the national level parties.
