German skier falls to death taking a photo

Trento (Italy), April 2 (IANS/AKI): An elderly German skier tripped and fell to his death in northern Italy as he tried to take a photo of the mountain scenery.

The 62-year-old man was killed in the Fiemme valley in northern Italy's Dolomites late on Wednesday when he plummeted 200 metres into a ravine.

Mountain rescue teams reached the scene of the accident and winched the man up on to a helicopter but he was pronounced dead.

The man had been standing beside a black run at Cima Pala di Santa with his camera around his neck when he apparently lost his balance.
