Indian couple found dead in Sri Lanka, probe launched

Colombo, April 3 (IANS): The Sri Lankan police on Friday said a probe has been launched into the death of an Indian couple whose bodies were discovered in a hotel here on Thursday.

The couple were residing in the hotel since March 27, Xinhua news agency reported. They were between 30-35 years of age.

"We believe it is a double suicide but investigations have been launched to probe the deaths," a police official said.

The bodies were discovered after the hotel owner informed the police that the couple had not come out of their room since Wednesday.
