Mangaluru: Founder of Komals Group Vitob Nagvekar passes away

Mangaluru, Apr 3: Vitob S Nagvekar, founder of Komals Group of Concerns, Mangaluru passed away on Friday April 3 at his residence in Ladyhill here. He was 86, and is survived by two sons and three daughters.

Nagvekar was awarded ‘Guru Seva Niratha’ by Sri Bharathiteertha Swamiji of Shringeri Jagadugur Math and ‘Vaishya Ratna’ by Sri Vamanashram Swamiji, Haldipur Math of Vaishya Samaj. He also served for a long time in Dongerkery Shree Venkataramana Temple and was the president of Vaishya Education Society.

He was the chief editor of 'Guruvani', a monthly religious magazine published by Haldipur Guru Math and served Vaishya Education Society as its president.

He was also the president of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and he was a well-known figure in Mangaluru due to his philanthropic nature and social works.

His last rites will be held on Saturday April 4 at 10 am at Bolar crematorium.

    I personally felt sad to know the Mr. Nagvekar is no more. He is my FIRST EMPLOYER in my life in 1978. I served him in his ice cream factory as AC technician.
    His advises are footsteps to me in my life and due to which i have achieve success in my life.
    I offer my special prayers to get Nagvekar Sir's soul rest in peace and find his place in heaven with almighty God. I offer my prayer on this great GOOD FRIDAY in my church.
    my words will not fill his place in his family but my prayers will give the strength to bear the loss.
