Tibetan aid for flood victims in Kashmir

Dharamsala, April 3 (IANS): The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) on Friday announced Rs.5 lakh assistance to flood victims in Jammu and Kashmir, an official statement said.

The aid will be facilitated by the CTA's department of home, headquartered in this town.

The mountainous state faced an unprecedented deluge last year, which caused massive damage to life and property.

In the past few days heavy rain in the Kashmir Valley has again caused the water levels of rivers, lakes and mountain streams here to rise though the Jhelum river is still flowing below the danger mark.
