Udupi: Bid to sell pistol illegally - Two arrested, bullets, Rs 1.34 lac seized

Udupi, Apr 4: Two persons who were found to be moving suspiciously in Saiberkatte Yadthady area trying to illegally sell a pistol were arrested by Udupi police on Friday April 3.

Based on credible information, the police raided a spot near Kavadi cross at Yadthady and arrested Yogish (29) from Kundapur and Sohail (29).

The police recovered a pistol, seven live bullets, three mobile phones, a bike and Rs 1.34 lac in cash from the accused.

Yogish and Sohail were later handed over to Brahmavar police for further investigation.

The operation was conducted on the directions of Udupi SP Annamalai and led by ACP Santhosh Kumar, Udupi sub-divisional DySP Chandrashekar K M and other officers. Police personnel Ravichandra, Suresh, Chandra Shetty, Santosh Ambagilu and others participated i the operation.
