Sandstorm in Gulf causes delay in flights to Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Apr 4: Flights from the Gulf nations to Mangaluru city were affected due to the heavy sandstorm witnessed in the Gulf region over the past few days.

On Friday April 3, Jet Airways from Dubai was delayed by about two hours. It was supposed to reach Mangaluru at 8 am, instead it landed at 10 am.

Similarly, Air India Expess flight was scheduled to land at 7.30 am, but was delayed by three hours and reached only at 10.30 am.

Air India Express flight from Dammam arrived late by two hours at 9.50 am.

The same delay was experienced on Thursday April 2 as well, with both Air India Express and Jet Airways flights getting delayed by about two hours.

It is said that those coming home for Easter were seriously affected with delays and uncertainties.

Heavy sandstorm has hit Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and UAE. Schools and offices have remained closed and traffic has been affected with visibility dropping. The skies turned orange and yellow as the storm encompassed the Gulf region.

    IXE/DXB/IXE flights is originated from Mangalore and terminates at Mangalore that is why it is maintaining on tine departure and arrival.People talk and comments if aircraft is not safe to fly due to technical reasons or natural reasons.But Air India Express maintains good records as per Mangalore/Dubai Mangalore is considered

    I am a regular user of AirindiaExpress flts and the On time is really good here at Manglore.
    You will be surprised that except for the one Flt on the day of the sandstorm when the Aircraft was diverted to Muscat,all flts I am told have departed and arrived on Time.
    My friends from Gulf coming for Easter and going to Kerala inform me that Only Airindia express is maintaining schedule with Nil Flight cancellations.....Keep it up AI Express....

    Dear Friend, please don't pass sarcastic comments. AIE is generally operated on time. You may have issues with quality of service provided and price of ticket if you book it to near to the travel date. In general its operate on time and value for money.
