Udupi: Lifeguards at Kaup beach save man from committing suicide

Udupi, Apr 5: The lifeguards of Kaup beach tourism development project, which is headed by Yathish Baikampady, on Sunday April 5 saved a man from committing suicide.

It is learnt that Imanulla (37) from Hosanagara of Shivamogga tried to end his life by jumping into the water.

Sources said that Imanulla came to Kaup beach at around 3.30 pm and with the intention of ending his life, going into the water where it was marked danger zone. The lifeguards who saw him immediately rushed to his rescue and brought him to safety.

When questioned, he told the lifeguards that he wanted to end his life as he was very distressed. However, he did not divulge any details.

It is learnt that Imanulla is marrid and has two daughters and two sons.

He was later handed over to Kaup police.
