Mangaluru, Apr 6: A youth who jumped over the compound wall of a house and was spotted acting suspiciously was caught by the public and thrashed near Kolya here on Sunday April 5.
He was then handed over to police.

Incidentally, gold ornaments worth several lacs of rupees were stolen from a house in the same neighbourhood recently.

Late night on Sunday, Sattar (25) from Mastikatte was spotted leaping over the compound wall of a house located near Shree Mookambika Temple, Kolya near the national highway. The family members who were in the house noticed him jumping over the wall and came out to catch hold of him, but on seeing them, Sattar took to his heels and hid inside an empty compound near the temple.

Nevertheless, the locals caught hold of him and on questioning, he started to blabber and acted suspiciously. They then thrashed him, but he still did not reveal anything. The locals expressed suspicions that Sattar was intoxicated with ganja.

The Ullal police on receving information arrived at the spot but Sattar did not speak even when questioned by the police. He was later shifted to a hospital and then taken into custody.

About a week ago, a theft of gold ornaments worth several lacs had been reported at the house belonging to journalist Jayant Ullal's in-laws, located behind Shree Mokambika Temple. Sattar was spotted at the same place. Some said four others had come with him in two bikes.

Sattar is employed in textile store in Mangaluru, sources said. Locals claimed that he would plead for money from passersby, and if they refused, he would resort to pick-pocketing.

Further investigations are on.

group of persons hitting satter is not heroism. have some pitty. put your self in his place and think. directly hand over him to the police. if not help him to correct himself. not beating him like dog. people who beat him are real useless people. if he had gun with him not even one would have been near him let alone beating . see his expression how helpless he looks. be human. you beating him won't change him only a loving and proper advice will change him.

Public encouragement...what r u talking. Moral police is already taking action. Nothing is remaining because of people like your encouragement people take law in hand. If this person die because of people like your over encouragement and thrashing...do you consider it is murder. People should not take law in hand and many a time encouragement turns aggressive if the person is minority. ..

He might have been chased by RSS/BD/RS BJP goondas, he jumped over the compound to save his life. The HM should probe this angle with full effort to book persons who caught him to prove his secularism. And victim should be compensated with at least 10 lacs to support him and his parivar till he fit is for carry out his profession effectively.

1.Some people 'jump walls' for theft.
    2. Some do it in 'intoxicated' state.
    3. Some do it for getting intoxicated.
    4. Once or twice when young I have also 'jumped a particular wall'.
reason you want aa? everything I must tell aa?
There are many readers here in this forum who have 'jumped walls' for the same purpose as mine. Only they are acting like saints now.
    Is it not?

After May 16th we have been seeing such atrocities targeted against minorities.
This is absolute mockery of democracy. What is the use of freedom in an independent nation, if one can not jump a compound wall?
CBI has to investigate this case!

This is what you we call “Freedom of intrude”. In fact our State Govt should make a Law that there should not be any boundary wall for any majority community so that people should not get hurt when they jump on compound!!!! Shankar Bhai…. I think you are inspired by Obama

Guys, calm down. I am not defending the guy, he is wrong and should be punished by the system of law, not by the public, beating him to death . Look at his face, blood is all over, no medical care before taking him to police station?. One more punch, he could die on the spot, who will be responsible then?.15 guys hitting one guy to his death?, not a good way to deal with.
