Kashmir CM briefed on border situation


Jammu, April 6 (IANS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed was on Monday briefed by the western army commander on the security situation along the international border in Jammu region.

Lt. Gen. K.J. Singh called on the chief minister at his residence here on Monday, an official statement issued here said.

Lt. Gen Singh briefed Sayeed about the overall security situation in the areas under his responsibility, particularly along the international border in Jammu region.

The Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir is the responsibility of the army's northern command, while the international border in Jammu region comes under the responsibility of the western command.
