Udupi: Police recover lost purse, laptop in record time

Udupi, Apr 8: The laptop and a purse of a student lost while traveling in a bus from Dharwad to Mangaluru was found by the police due to their presence of mind.

Bolooru resident Anusha Karkera was returning home from Dharwad when she lost her laptop, purse, mobile, and ATM card. Anusha informed the police while getting down from the bus in Mangaluru and the police sent the message to different police stations.

Based on the information, Padubidri police head constable Harish Putran and Rajesh Herga questioned the daily wage workers who had come from Dharwad at about 5.30 am on Tuesday April 7. The lost items were found in their luggage. When questioned further, it was learnt that these items belonged to Anusha.

The police have returned the items to Anusha. The act of finding lost property by the police within a short time has been praised by the people.
