Sevalal seer remanded in judicial custody

Davangere, Apr 9 (DHNS): First Additional Sessions Court Judge Vishwanath B Suryavamshi on Wednesday remanded Banjara Samaj Gurupeeth seer Sardar Sevalal Sanganabasava Swami in one-day judicial custody in connection with a sexual assault case.

The hearing was adjourned till Thursday. The court, however, granted bail to the mother of the seer, one of the accused in the case.

On Tuesday, the judge had issued a non-bailable warrant against the seer after he failed to appear in person during the last three hearings in connection with the case. A police team led by CPI Pampapathy, PSI Nagamma and staff executed the warrant by arresting the seer from a devotee’s house in the city and produced him before the court on Wednesday.

The seer was accused of having sex with a woman for eight years, promising to marry her and later betraying her.

The victim, a city-based schoolteacher, had lodged a complaint with the Davangere women’s police station on June 26, 2013, charging the seer with sexually assaulting her. She accused mother and sister of the seer of aiding and abetting the seer.

On April 4, the victim filed another complaint at the women’s police station stating that the seer, attired in plain white clothes, visited her house and pleaded with her to not appear before the court for hearing on April 7. The victim furnished the photos to the police, showing the seer in plain clothes at her house.

Meanwhile, Banjara community leader and Davangere APMC president Raghavendra Naik has said that the community has distanced itself from the Sanganabasava Swami and that he was never accepted as the pontiff of Sevalal Gurupeeth.

Jaimini, I fully agree with you. In my opinion this role itself is a fraud. 'Men of God', who gave them that title?. Majority are agents of an institution who typically go here as the real world is harsh. These guys should be put in tough areas and not allowed to mingle socially with the general population. All problems will be solved by these referee's of the so call God

    'She & the Seer'
One fine day after 7 years of hobnobbing with the Seer, she was 'enlightened' or saw 'light at the end of the tunnel'!
Alas! Simultaneously this Seer could also see that he had fallen into 'dark pit 'with 'pitch darkness' and had reached a
    point of no return'.....
    Just look at the difference....

The law is same for all including Priests,Nuns of all caste and communities.
Only difference is we need a new Bench of judges every step for Raghaveshwara Swamiji.
Better if the case is shifted to Davanagere.
I am not against the sage, but justice delayed is justice denied and waste of tax payers money.

If you any proof please produce it to IA. They are hectically try it since few months & not a scratch they have got. Because of it they are neither submitting any of reports to HC. Arrest cannot be made based on mere allegation. Concrete evidence is required, & you may be helpfull if you possess such evidence.

Grow up man...don't speak for sake of a comment.

Why there is a discrimination by court & Police ?
In another Case of hapless Premalatha Shastri the Concerned 'accused' Swamy is till moving around freely and he has not been remanded to judicial custody and he goes on attending public functions and using his Financial muscle as well as psychological weapon of Bhakthi & Guru-shaapa to dissuade the people of his own community who were trying helping the Victim.

    @ Ravi B Shenava
Firstly, observe the case clearly. She was arrested on Black-mailing charges & its 'cross observation' before Magistrate in Honnavara Court, & not on just mere complaint. Secondly, the allegation of haressement came after arrest, which clearly means its a 'countercase'. Even, when the case was handed over to IA, to investigate on all its related issue, he appeared for investigation over 200 hours, & 50 hours on record. Now, as per AG statements made before HC 3 months back, report has to be filed to HC, & IA is running away without submitting report, as they may be lacking evidence. Isn't it ? So how can you expect 'action' on just 'allegation' ? If your so interested in the case, insist IA to submit report immediatly, & not to buy time !..& if HC finds fault with him, it may direct so..
But, definetly with present details, it looks like that its she who may be screwed for taking public for a ride with her fake stories.
