Bengaluru, Apr 9: Senior advocate K M Nataraj has been appointed as additional solicitor general of India (South zone). The order to this effect has been issued by the chief secretary from the union law ministry as per the direction from the President of India.
46-year old K M Nataraj is a native of Konetota House in Eshwaramangala in Puttur taluk. After completing his primary education in his native place, he completed his college education at Vivekananda College, Puttur. He also functioned as the president of the district All Students Union then.
After securing his degree in law from SDM Law College in Mangaluru in 1992, he started his career as an advocate at JMFC court in Mangaluru.
He has rendered his service as legal advisor for various bodies including Bengaluru Development Authority. He had also worked as an advocate under senior lawyer and former advocate general B V Acharya.
He was the youngest person in the entire country to be appointed as additional advocate general in 2009. He continued in the post till 2013.
His uncles K Govind Bhat and K Shivshankar Bhat had served as the judges of the Karnataka high court.
