Gurgaon police to ease traffic, get 10 new stations


Gurgaon, April 10 (IANS): Ten new police stations will soon be set up in Gurgaon and police have prepared an action plan to reduce traffic at the millenium city's five worst snarl points, the city's police commissoner said on Friday.

Disclosing police priorities and action plan for the next two months (May-June), Gurgaon Police Commissioner Navdeep Singh Virk said the 10 new police stations will come up in the East, West and South zones.

The city at present has 24 police stations.

On traffic snarls in the city, Virk said Hero Honda Chowk, Fazilpur Chowk at Sohna road, South City turning, Jawala and Hanuman cut at old Delhi road and HUDA city Centre Chowk were identified as crucial, where traffic jams have been worst in the city.

"With the help of experts and public, permanent solution of traffic jams at these points will be worked out in coming two months by implementing traffic diversion, installing traffic signals and road engineering," he added.
