Five abducted Afghan aid workers found murdered

Kabul, April 10 (IANS/AKI): Five aid workers were found murdered in Afghanistan's Uruzgan province on Friday, 45 days after being kidnapped by the Taliban, a media report said.

The bodies of the Afghans, all of whom worked for the Save The Children charity, were recovered from two locations on the outskirts of the provincial capital Tarinkot, Pajhwok news agency reported.

A spokesperson for Save The Children could not confirm the aid workers' killings, according to Pajhwok. But a family member of one of the slain Afghans said they had been informed of the killings.

The Taliban did not immediately claim the aid workers' killings.
