Modi leaves for Toulouse


Paris, April 11 (IANS): Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday left here for Toulouse, in southern France, where he would be visiting the Airbus facility as well as the French space agency CNES.

Accompanied by French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, Modi will later drive down to Lille to visit the Neuve Chapelle war memorial to pay homage to the 10,000 Indian soldiers who were killed during World War I.

He would return to Paris to attend a reception by the Indian community and also meet former French president Nicolas Sarkozy.

On Friday, Modi held talks with President Francois Hollande and both sides inked 17 agreements and three letters of intent.

India said it would buy 36 Rafale fighter jets in fly away condition as soon as possible.
