Mangaluru, Apr 11: Thieves broke into the house of former MLA and poet, the late B M Idinabba, at Mastikatte, Ullal late night on Friday April 10 and decamped with gold and cash worth nearly Rs 9 lac.

Badruddin, son of the late Idinabba had gone out to attend a function with his family. The theft came to light when they returned at around 10.30 pm.

The thieves entered after breaking the back door and decamped with jewellery worth nearly Rs 8.5 lac and Rs 40,000 cash.

Ullal police, forensic experts and canine squad arrived and conducted investigation.

This is a second incident of theft in Ullal police station limits in the last two weeks. Valuables costing several lacs were stolen from the house belonging to Saraswati in Kolya last week. Thieves from outside the district have also been caught during Uroos programme. People have urged the Ullal station police to be more alert.

Elected persons like ministers, MP's & LMA's are peoples agent and should not have more wealth & money then masters (Common man) People should take over the properties & wealth of Elected persons and distribute among homeless & needy.

It should be the opposite actually. Poor MLA means poor people. A MLA can also have his own life, business or profession and successful one too. A successful person in business or profession with good man management skills is a better politician than a honest man.

For your information my friend, this is not MLA's house.
Theft was done from former (late) MLA's son. Theft money is not earned by the late MLA or his son from the Government or Black money.
He is onto real estate business and he earned it through real estate business.. don't comment without knowledge...

I find that this comment by Albert D'Souza is uncalled for and not in keeping with the true human values. I am afraid he cannot comment like this without knowing the true status of the family that is robbed of its wealth that might well be hard earned.
