Mangaluru, Apr 12: The Ullal police who raided an illegal slaughter house in Chembugudde near Ullal seized 7 live and 4 slaughtered animals from the place . Four accused managed to run away from the place.

M C Bawa, his brother M C Khadar, and two other unidentified persons are the accused.

Police raided the said slaughter house on Sunday, April 12 after receiving some credible information about the illegal slaughtering at the place. Two of them were cutting the meat into pieces and the other two were preparing to go to deliver the meat by scooter when the police arrived at the spot. The two who were on the scooter, left the scooter on the spot abondoned and ran away when they spotted the police.

The same slaughter house was raided on November 14 last year and police had seized about hundred kilograms of meat. Four persons were also arrested then. The persons got bail after that. The meat seized today is greater than before.

M C Bawa is said to be in the same business for years.

The persons who are accused in cases like this should be stopped from carrying on the same business while on bail, said some locals.

No where in hindu scriptures it has said its banned. In history cow was the source of food and income people lived by eating cow milk products. So they are considered pure form of god (anaporneshwari) that why we were not asked to eat them.
Its up to you eat or do not eat it.
Here are few references about beef eating in hindu scriptures.

1. Manusmriti (Chapter 5 / Verse 30) says, “It is not sinful to eat meat of eatable animals, for Brahma has created both the eaters and the eatables.”
2. Maharishi Yagyavalkya says in Shatpath Brahmin (3/1/2/21) that, “I eat beef because it is very soft and delicious.”
3. Apastamb Grihsutram (1/3/10) says, “The cow should be slaughtered on the arrival of a guest, on the occasion of ‘Shraddha’ of ancestors and on the occasion of a marriage.”
4. Rigveda (10/85/13) s, “On the occasion of a girl’s marriage oxen and cows are slaughtered.”
5. Rigveda (6/17/1) states that “Indra used to eat the meat of cow, calf, horse and buffalo.”
6. Vashistha Dharmasutra (11/34) writes, “If a Brahmin refuses to eat the meat offered to him on the occasion of ‘Shraddha’ or worship, he goes to hell.”
7. Hinduism’s greatest propagator Swami Vivekanand said thus: “You will be surprised to know that according to ancient Hindu rites and rituals, a man cannot be a good Hindu who does not eat beef”. (The Complete Works of Swami Vivekanand, vol.3, p. 536).
8. Adi Shankaracharya’ commentary on Brihdaranyakopanishad 6/4/18 says : ‘Odan’ (rice) mixed with meat is called ‘Mansodan’. On being asked whose meat it should be, he answers ‘Uksha’. ‘Uksha’ is used for an ox, which is capable to produce semen.
9. The book ‘The History and Culture of the Indian People’, published by Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, Bombay and edited by renowned historian R.C.Majumdar (Vol.2, page 578) says: “this is said in the Mahabharat that King Rantidev used to kill two thousand other animals in addition to two thousand cows daily in order to give their meat in charity

Did anyoe ask how can a Hindu eat beef, as its a holy animal, I would like to give you some insight.Cow was a holy animal for Yadavas, not to all Hindus. Cow was a way to earn their living. So,you don't kill the one that earns you your daily bread , right? Nothing holy about it. If you insist on it being holy, then you can't eat Chicken (Subramanian/Murugan/Karthikeya ' s flag), eat fish (Remember Mathsya Avatar?), Should consider pig as holy animal and not to eat Ham burgers (Varaha Avatar) or kill a rat (Vehicle of Ganesha). All Hindus should turn vegetarian.

you yourself have answered your doubt! every god in hinduism is associated with some form of animal! it was just a mean of showing "dont kill- live with nature, have a symbiotic relationship- respect nature"!.. Chicken is never an indian breed and nowhere it is there in indian mythology! Jainism/Buddhism were strict "vegetarian religion" and still when people needed more freedom, with relaxed rules, Hindu culture was easy going! while one can eat anything, Brahmins and few other castes had strict rules to follow of ahimsa.. while one who worked hard physically, can choose anything to eat!../

But still COW is considered the mother and holy, with all its products, which are used raw to do Panchamruta abhisheka, cleaning (gomutra/cowdung) and most importantly, even before the Brahmins eat , post naivedya to god, the thing is fed to Cows! its called 'Go-graasa' (along with that to departed souls via crows - vaayasa)! Also, GO HATYA is a mahadosha!.. and before one goes and stays in newly constructed house, first a cow and calf are made to go inside the house, roam before house warming yajnas and that is given as Daana to vaidiks!
this is not the case with Goat, or fish or pig! So, consider the significance, before writing bullshit!

And Vishnu avatars - is chronology of evolution event - how man came into existence! there is no way "world is created in 7 days" concept in hinduism!

Beef eating is encouraged in sanatan ( Hindu ) scriptures. Hindu is a geographical name, . Just as u can be an English Christian or American Muslim, u can as well be hindi chriatian or a Hindi mulim, but u cannot be a Sanatan Christian or Sanatan Muslim.U can only be sanatan Hindu. U can as well be Sanatan Hindue of America or England or any other country for that matter.now, what is lawful according to ones religion is determined by the respective religious books like the Vedas bhagavath geethq, the Puranas or the Bible, the Quran etc. What is not forbidden by the scriptures, why that should be made unlawful by any body. If anybody wants to know whether the sanatana dharma scrtures encourages literally sacrificing and eating cow let them ask for it in these pages. You are permitted to export buffallow meat only. Cow slaughter is banned in almost every state except north east. In karnataka aged and sick cows are permitted to slaughter.permission is necessary to slaughter buffallow because to avoid cow slaughter.

Cow slaughter is illegal and punishable offence in Karnataka also. You can slaughter buffallo and old and sick cow. Permission from govt is necessary to ensure that you are not slaughtering cow.What people are eating in India is buffallo meat and India is the leading exporter of buffallo meat.Most of the beef available in Mangalore is from illegal source only.

The cow is stolen when it is left on the road side to fetch its own food, why do anyone need a cow when they cant feed them and take care of them? just to milk the free milk on time and sell ? goumatha goumatha panda yavand, do some good arrangements to take care of the stray cows dont let our own people steal it.
