Two policemen killed in Afghan bombing

Kabul, April 13 (IANS): Two police personnel were killed while one was injured on Monday in a bomb attack in Afghanistan's Zabul province.

"A police unit was on routine patrol at Sangar Manda locality of Shahr-e-Safa district. It was struck by a roadside bomb," district governor Malik Ali Mohammad told Xinhua news agency.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident, the official added.

Meanwhile, one Afghan soldier was killed in a landmine blast on Sunday, the defence ministry said earlier in the day.

The army's special engineering teams have found and defused 30 landmines and roadside bombs since early Sunday across the country, the ministry added.
