Javdekar meets environment ministers of NCR states

New Delhi, April 13 (IANS): Union Environment Minister Prakash Javdekar on Monday met his counterparts from states with territories under the National Capital Region (NCR) and discussed the air quality in the national capital.

"Today (Monday) held a meeting with environment ministers and officials of NCR (Delhi, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan)," Javdekar tweeted.

He said: "Delhi and Haryana were represented by respective environment ministers, while Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan by officials concerned."

The meeting was also attended by officials from three municipal corporations of Delhi, New Delhi Municipal Council and Delhi Traffic Police.

The meeting came after the National Green Tribunal on April 7 banned 10 years old diesel vehicles from plying on Delhi roads in order to check air pollution.
