Daijiworld Media Network – Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Apr 14: Karnataka assembly speaker, Kagodu Thimmappa, who was on a visit to his residence at Sastan in the taluk on Sunday to attend a private function, gave full credit to the state government for having introduced several good schemes. However, he wanted these schemes to be efficiently implemented, and that the system administration need to gain momentum.

About his habit of tongue-lashing ministers and legislators inside and outside the assembly, he said he was just discharging his duties and he has no qualms about this attitude. He said he does not differentiate between members of ruling and opposition parties in criticizing their wrongs. He wanted both the sides to work together for the progress of the state.

Kagodu asserted that he does not aspire to be a minister. About the BBMP trifurcation imbroglio, he felt that this situation has arisen due to the hasty decision of the government, and wanted the government to handle the situation with all seriousness.

He criticized BJP MLA, Umesh Katti, and Congress MLA, Patil, for coming out with demand for the bifurcation of the state. He reminded these leaders that united Karnataka was the dream of the people, which was realized after a protracted movement. He asked people to overlook these initiatives which are nothing but mean demands backed by some other aims.
