Mamata wishes Bangladesh on New Year


Kolkata, April 14 (IANS): West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday extended greetings to Bangladesh residents on the occasion of the Bengali New Year.

"I wish heartiest greetings and best wishes to brothers and sisters in Bangladesh. Happy Poila Boisakh," Banerjee posted on Twitter.

Poila means 'first' and Boisakh is the first month of the Bengali calendar .

The day is marked on April 14 in Bangladesh and on April 15 in India.
