Woman railway official, son found dead in Ghaziabad home


Ghaziabad, April 14 (IANS): A woman railway official and her son were found dead under mysterious circumstances in their residence here, police said.

The dead bodies of Arvind Gill and her son in were recovered Tuesday from their residence in Rail Vihar in Vasundhara area when police broke in after complainst from neighbours about a foul smell coming from there.

Both were found lying in their beds, having cut their wrists. The son who is pursuing his bachelor's degree from IIT Roorkee was told under depression.

Police said that Gill, who worked as a private secretary to a senior officer in the Railway Board, was living with her son in their Rail Vihar residence, while her husband Harmeet Gill, en engineer with a private construction company, lives in Delhi.

Harmeet Gill told police that his wife and son had left him about two years ago and he last saw them on November 12, 2014. Since them he had no knowledge about them.

"The dead bodies have been seized and forensic team had collected the evidence from the spot. Prima facie it seems a case of suicide but since the investigation is on the final outcome could only be revealed after the investigation," said Superintendent of Police (City) Ajay Pal.
