Karkala: Foundation stone laid for Marathi Community hall

Karkala, April 14: Karkala MLA V Sunil Kumar laid the foundation stone for the new community hall for Marathi community social service league at Kaduhole on Sunday, April 12.

Speaking on the occasion, Sunil Kumar said that the ideologies of Marathi community leader and fighter, Shivaji were inspiration for all of us. “Hardworking farming Marathi community members have to grow in educational, political and other spheres. Community halls are necessary to bring communities together and conduct social activities. An amount of Rs 5 lacs from the MLA's funds are approved for the building and more grants will be released as the work progresses”.

Chief guest, taluk panchayat member Jyothi Suvarna, said that organizing the communities under one roof was necessary for the upliftment of the weak and downtrodden.

Former member of APMC, Nandakumar Hegde, Gram panchayat member Sudheendra Naik, Krishnamurthi, league founder president Raju Naik and others were present. League president Ramesh Naik presided over the programme.

Deputy Tehsildar K P Naik welcomed and gave a key note address. Teachers Shekar Kadthala compered the programme. Janardhan Naik proposed vote of thanks.
