Kasargod: Four arrested for selling hired cars

Kasargod, Apr 15: The Trissur Kattappana police have succeeded in arresting four persons including one from the district, who are allegedly involved with hiring of cars and then selling them.

The arrested persons are Riyaz (30) from Nileshwar here, Stanley Herald (41) from Kollam, Babu (42) from Nilamboor, and Hameed (45) from Malappuram.

Ansar from Nilamboor had complained to the police that these men had hired his Maruti WagonR car and then fraudulently sold it. The police who undertook investigation succeeded in finding the culprits and arresting them.

The police said that this gang is believed to be involved with hiring of a number of cars from various places including Kasargod, and selling them off after changing number plates and creating fake records. To get to the root of the issue, they have been interrogating the arrested thieves.
