10 killed in Myanmar road accident


Yangon, April 15 (IANS): At least 10 people were killed and two others were injured when a truck overturned and fell off a hillside in southwestern Myanmar's Ayeyawaddy delta region, a media report said Wednesday.

The truck, with 18 people on board, overturned on Tuesday as the driver lost control, Xinhua reported citing official Mirror news portal.

However, five other passengers escaped unscathed, the report said.

The Mirror said at least 26 people had been injured in car accidents in the country's former capital of Yangon since the water festival began on Monday.
