Doha: MCC all set to present twin Konkani plays - Artistes arrive

Doha, Apr 16: Ahead of the twin plays to be staged on Friday April 17, the artistes from Kalakul, Konkani’s lone professional troupe run by the reputable Maand Sobhaan, arrived in Doha Hamad International Airport on Wednesday April 15 at 10.30 pm.

They were welcomed on behalf of Mangalore Cricket Club, (MCC) Qatar by its president Norbert Corda, vice-president Prakash Noronha, executive committee members Riana Pinto and Mishal Lobo at the airport.

The artistes who arrived are Arun Raj Rodrigues (writer and lead actor), Christopher D’Souza , Neenasam (director), Hanley Vishal Coelho, Melwyn Avinash Pais, Melcon Cyril Rego, Clanwin Brian Fernandes, Roshan Lakwin Lobo, Preetham Christopher Rodrigues, Sandip Tellis, Arun Joyson Tauro, Lester Melwyn Menezes, Maria Joyce D’Souza, Venis Maria D'Cunha, and Nishma Murial D'Souza.

They are all set to entertain the Konkani expatriate community here in Qatar by presenting two Konkani comedy short plays titled 'Platform No 3' and 'Nimaane 30 Dees' (Last 30 Days) at Al Ghazal Club in Doha on April 17 at sharp 5 pm.

Entry passes are available with the committee members. One may contact after Konkani Mass on Friday also.
